I am curious. Do you guys really think war 2.0 will bring any change. Do you really think war 2.0 will bring war back to its former glory. And if, may i ask why? Can you point to any arguments or facts, or is it just hopefull thinking?

Why won't the same "elite" control war 2.0?

I made a thread about stats from 1 single game several months ago. I did analyze the facts. But as i have now realized, in a dumb way. The share of the total kills "the few" has isnt as important as the kdr of the masses. I took a look at the old thread, and realized that all new players had strikingly low kdrs. Some had ratios under 0.05. Thats 1 kill per 20 ****ing deaths. I am sure you all realize that nobody with such stats is going to continue playing.

I have pointed out numerous times, that this problem has to be adressed in order for war 2.0 to become popular. So where am i wrong? I am here to learn, not to argue. Why will war 2.0 be popular?

Ps. I do not count a server with 20 veterans who came back to see what a new version of their at some point favourite server looks like. And those 20 wont stay for long anyway.

First of all, War 2.0 will have brand new features and a more noob-friendly gameplay. More features made by the one amd only @Totom3 are written down here.

You talked about the current elite. Unfortunately, theres nothing we can really do about it. Most of those 'Elite' have played War for around 2-3 years and are very experienced with the gamemode. They are mostly the ones that also help newer players with any issues.
There will always be an elite. Elites exist on almost every server. Raid, Wild West, WarZ, CTF, War, they all have players who played their gamemode for such a long time that they know every bit of the gameplay.

I really hope and believe that War 2.0 will be a very noob-friendly gamemode and will bring some light in the deep dark Brawl is in right now.

Most of the issues with non-noob friendly were this.
Book outdated, no real good information on guns and not a lot went on the forums to check guides, high elite player ego's, unbalanced guns and broken things. But this was really Orange's coding we're talking about and @Totom3 is like a god to fix War.
I have hopes that it'll bring some attention. Just not as much as before when Minecraft was still more popular than today.

First of all, War 2.0 should be more attractive because it has more features, for example more gamemodes, more killstreaks and more gun properties. Since the code is also new and we have a Developer who is familiar with it, updates are a lot easier to make.

Here are some changes that will make it more friendly for newer players:
    - Joining mid-game: Instead of having to wait for 6 minutes until the next round starts you can join the action immediately.
    - Balanced guns: In War 1.0 the guns you unlock at a high level are by far better than the starter or low-level guns. In War 2.0 we aim to make the guns different without making them better, meaning a starter gun isn't much worse than a high level gun but needs a different playstyle.
    - Prestige system: Instead of leveling up continuously you restart at a certain level and need to unlock all the guns again, meaning you will have to use all guns frequently, not just your favourite ones.
    - Tutorial: This is rather low on the priority list, but there will likely be an in-game tutorial.

Yes. It will catch more attention because it's a new server and it will bring new players. The current problem with War is that new players get crushed by experienced ones because of the low player numbers. This will be fixed by the prestige system. 2.0 has a overall fair system.

War is the most fun, successful and original gamemode (lol bias ik) so the players will stay.

    tl:dr
New server brings new players, a fun and fair server will keep the players. So, yes, 2.0 will bring change to Brawl.

Awesome! These are some concrete things.

I hate the "war 2.0 will change everything" bull**** . Nice to hear someone back the claim up with evidence.

A large part of the "skill" high lvl players sure is just op guns. I do still believe players like leko would rek every low level guy no matter which gun he used. Which ofc does not make your points less valid.

Everything you say do always make perfect sence. I have nothingore to say.

What everyone said above pretty much...
But there will not be any over lowered donator guns that will just make someone able to dominate, which makes players leave. So then there will be more players who stay instead of quit.

So when I FINALLY get to a high level on 2.0, my stats will be reset? That will drive people away, it's a horrible idea! Will there be an option to, I don't know, KEEP my progress???????

EDIT: I am not trying to insult the devs. I know they have been working very hard, and I appreciate their progress and how much they care. I just hope they will re-consider the prestige system. Your level is like a title, it shows how good you are, how much experience you have, and how committed you are to the server. I don't want to lose that.

P.s. Did anyone notice how often on forums the staff says "First of all,"?

EDIT: Also, when I finally earn my favorite gun I don't want to lose it. Players might ragequit BECAUSE of it.

About "it shows how good you are" there will be prestige level (and you might get some special thing when getting to a new prestige).
You will just have to start over when you prestige, which might (not sure about who said this..) be optional.

And this makes the gaps between noobs and pros smaller as they have to start over once in a while or they wont be high prestige and therefore not called pro.

I don't want to start over after reaching prestige. If the guns truly are balanced, it won't make it any more "fair." I can imagine players quitting war 2.0 because they have to start all over, over and over again, which would be extremely annoying.

We asked the community which system they prefer and a majority liked the Prestige System more. https://www.brawl.com/threads/50418/

    1) Don't have high hopes about it being released. I'm sure @Totom3 will be kidnapped before it is ever finished and goes into production.

    2) So many players have left. Few people join and stay. My worry is that people won't come back...ever.

    3) The admins need to change how the server is run to attract and retain players.

Marketing needs to take a more important role.

    4) The mod program needs to be revised to attract, retain and grow future mods.

    5) At the end of the day, not preparing for Eula complaince was poorly managed and War hasn't recovered from the Blacklisting event.

Eula financial restrictions could kill this server.

If there were enough people watching brawl to flood war during #warfunsundays, surely information will spread about 2.0 once it's released. Brawl is FAR from dead.
