What I've definitely noticed on Raid is that for newer players, there isn't something viable and worth their time to work towards that they can directly see on a GUI. What I'm saying is, we need a class distinction on the server so that people know what to work towards.

This class distinction can be something like "Raid Points", or "RP", which takes all aspects of the game and counts them towards a total score. Here is my proposal. (Keep in note that all numbers on this thread are subject to change.)

    10 plants harvested = 1 RP
    1 kill = 1 RP
    5 coal mined = 1 RP
    1 diamond mined = 1 RP
    25 ores mined total = 1 RP
    10 of anything smelted = 1 RP
    10 balance = 1 RP
30 levels of xp (can only be given once per life) = 5 RP
4 iron pieces of armor crafted= 2 RP
4 diamond pieces of armor crafted= 5 RP
    1 piece of p4 armor crafted= 15 RP
    10 peaceful mobs killed = 1 RP
    5 hostile mobs killed = 1 RP
1 hour played on Raid = 1 RP
    etc.

    Individual Leveling:
Level 1: 0 RP needed, for new members.
    Level 2: 10 RP needed.
    Level 3: 25 RP
    Level 4: 50 RP
    Level 5: 100 RP
    Level 6: 250 RP
    Level 7: 500 RP
    Level 8: 1000 RP
    Level 9: 2500 RP
    Level 10: 5000+ RP

Your level and your RP will be shown on the scoreboard and leaderboards can be accessed by doing a command such as '/leaderboards'
Every level gets benefits (non-game breaking but enough to encourage players to go to the top).
    Possible rewards:
    • Warp Slots
    • Koth Keys or keys for a new crate
    • Mooshroom eggs
    • Titles or novelty items

    Team Leveling:
Team leveling will emphasize each member's quality by taking the average of each team member's RP. For example, if team Vanta has 9 members that have over 5000 points but 1 person that has 0 points, it will show on the team's RP. Teams with 1-2 members can only be A-Team max. Example:

    D-Team: 0 Team RP
    C-Team: 250 Team RP
    B-Team: 500 Team RP
    BB-Team: 1000 Team RP
    A-Team: 2500 Team RP
    AA-Team: 5000 Team RP
    AAA-Team: 10000 Team RP

Just like individual scores, you may receive benefits for leveling up.

    Divided Koth System Possibility:
Koth can be divided by team level so that KOTHs are not as unfair as right now. There are many ways to solve the KOTH issue but this can be an idea that can be added on with the entire Raid Points system. This, at its infant stage, can be shaky but I need to rely on the community's opinion on this.
Team levels D-BB and players with no team under individual Level 9 go in Koth B.
Team levels A-AAA and individuals level 9-10 will go into Koth A.

    Benefits of this system:
    • New players will have a specific hierarchy to aim towards, meaning they will stay longer, invite friends, be introduced to commands and goals that they should set, which will increase the new player base
    • The quality of players can be assessed through their RP
    • The quality of teams can be assessed by their members' RP
    • RP adds a quantitative reason as to why you should aim to be the best.
This idea is obviously in its infancy, so please leave a comment on how you like or dislike the system.

    Thank you,

    praisekek.

While the adorable 'But it's not vanilla minecraft!' argument may be used against this, I believe something needs to be implemented for Raid to have any chance at becoming a mildly populated server. New players need an objective beyond 'Make a house' or 'Get diamonds'. There needs to be an external drive that'll keep players active. The key word here is "goals". Goals that aren't offered on any other well known server. Currently new players stick around because A-This is their first server or B-They prefer a ghost town server over a populated server. You can see this trend when the server resets. Everyone joins in because the goal is to become established; to start from scratch like everyone else. The goal is to excel above everyone. But after the first few days that adrenaline sparked from the race dies. Interest is gone. There are a few people that stick around simply because they've embedded themselves into the small Raid community but it's a very small handful of players. Once the majority of players make their basic necessities to 'survive' the game becomes boring. They've essentially beat it. What's the goal now? Become the best team? Why is that so important? <<Goals goals goals>>

hmmm I see your point but it doesn't really fit into raid, I think it needs to be something else.

As I said in staff slack, I love the concept behind the idea. I definitely agree raid news a larger end goal, something to strive for. More than just getting diamonds and building a base. However this specific idea doesn’t really fit raid too well imo. I’d like to see the idea redeveloped or have another with the same concept behind it.

I feel like if you could supply me with some criteria of what you don't want to happen since many feel that this doesn't fit into raid. Like what part especially do you not like? The point system, the rankings?

I love your idea to add a reward system. But as Anonymous said it doesn't quite fit the 'Raid' title too well. I'd love to see an idea constructed that'd allow for more raiding and PvP action ans as I've stated on many previous theads, I believe Brawl may have to dump some resources into simplifying trackers. Tutorials are great but there has to be an understanding that many players may not be the brightest and/or lack motivation to go through the boring task of mining one of the slowest breaking materials in Minecraft. Personally I think a plan should be developed to merge ordinary survival skills (through a point, leveling, or reward system) which will extend a player's ability to track further and/or more accurately. This would A) Establish a goal and B) Add onto the amount of conflicts and raiding. I haven't built a tracker since 1.7 because of the ridiculous amount of time it requires to build and use a new one. And recently I've quit because 'surviving' is no longer a goal. So extending my play time on Raid seems pointless besides waiting around for PvP (which I honestly don't care for beyond the long waiting period and having a slow computer). Where's on War I'm constantly trying to level up for new weapons and win matches every round to boost the speed at which leveling is achieved. To me the cycle on War is perfect until you've unlocked everything. Raid needs something similar.
