Regarding "Team Banter"

Disclaimer: This post is purely my opinion. If any staff have issues or concerns with what I am saying, please feel free to comment on what you think is ok in this context.

I feel like I want to make a post about this since the whole idea of team banter has changed a lot from when I used to play before. Before, it was a fun way to create competition and wars with teams, but now it just seems like it has to be flame or nothing at all. I want to clear up my intentions with a lot of the controversy currently and to help make the server a more fun place.

Team banter to me is a very important part of keeping raid fun and competitive. To me, it is calling each other out / poking them in a friendly way to encourage in game feuds and wars. In no way should it be personally attacking someone, breaking any rules, or taken *too* seriously.

What is ok (imo): -Bragging about raids, koth victories, team fights etc, Mild insults towards their skill (not to be taken seriously imo, prove them otherwise), general team insults ie your team is bad, can't track, ingame threats, etc etc. To me, posting these playful / teasing posts on team threads is ok (as it is discussing the team, but I see how the opposing argument is made), just as long as it doesn't turn into a flame war and is kept in a purely friendly, competitive nature.

What is NOT ok (imo): - Personal insults that can actually hurt someone's feelings (ie you have this disability, any other rude remarks that break the brawl rules, anything that doesn't relate to ingame basically), hackusations, swearing directly at the person etc etc.

I have always been a huge promoter and fan of team banter (even as a staff member), as I truly think it helps make the server more fun if done respectfully. Wars create dedication to track down your enemies which leads to more activity which helps team activity which help wars which help fun etc etc you get the point lol. My best memories on Raid have been through wars, and prime examples of GOOD wars with GOOD team banter were the Hype v Vanta war, Hype v T2BU, and parts of the first Hype v Sub war.

I don't mean to offend anyone by any of the stuff I say, but I encourage you too poke at me and my team as well - just trying to have fun and create a full fledged server war <3 I hope to see you all in your bases (which will happen btw) and I ask you all to try your best to track me too. Gather your allies and prepare to get decimated together! Team Legacy ftw, get rekt, and please have fun with this!

Well you're more than entitled towards you opinion and if you believe I am crossing any lines please report my post and then I'll be directed in the right way. Some posts might come across as that though since a lot of the context is missing for those not involved in our war, so sorry if they seem that way to you.

 

Yeah, and I'm not saying what my teammates said is ok. Both sides are going off a bit too much here - I am purely stating my views on this issue and what my intentions / beliefs are.
