Andromeda_tdm - The Government Laboratory

Everyone loves a good horror movie. We all know the modern favorites, like The Walking Dead, or Resident Evil.
But let us have a look into the past, and see what other good movies there are out there. This map focuses on a certain one,
A personal favorite of mine.

The Andromeda Strain, directed by Robert Wise, is a classic hit from the 1970s, featuring special effects, and sci-fi
elements. In fact, this is considered by many the first sci-fi/action movie in history. In the movie, there is a top-secret
government scientific facility underground for the use of studying foreign, extraterrestrial matter. This facility was called:
WILDFIRE

Wildfire features a cylindrical design, with 3 concentric circular sections, and 5 floors altogether. The middle circle is a hallway
connecting all the areas, and the outer circle contains sleeping quarters, conference rooms, and an elevator to move between
floors. The inner circle contains all the labs, and each lab contains an entrance to the central core, where a module exists for
nuclear self-destruct in the event of a viral outbreak.

This map is more focused on the fifth floor, the bottom floor, where all the events of the movie happen. My build is a not-quite-
exact replica, featuring only 4 labs instead of 5, due to constraints in Minecraft. The map is relatively small, encouraging shotguns
rather than snipers, and assault rifles instead of pistols. The map is good for:
> TDM: Teams spawn at respective spawn points (Lapis Lazuli Block, and Redstone Block).
> CTF: Teams spawn at respective spawn points, and flags spawn at respective posts.
> Infect: Blue spawns at blue spawn point, root infected spawns at red.
Due to the map's size, it is not optimal for FFA, OneIn, and GunGame, although it can be optimized for the new Domination Gamemode,
if it is ever released.

The whole map is a 30x30 Cylinder with a little tower thing on top :V

 

Actually, it's missing some stuff, as I just found out, so I'm gonna release an update soon.

Might need nerfing.

 

In the actual movie, the facility was all iron.
Or, at least I think it was iron. It might have been white plastic :V

 

Yeah, that's one thing I considered while making the map. I think that'd be fun
CHAOS sounds like a good clan name :V
