We used to actually use TNT like how you have it in your map. It was fixed later on because of the lag in caused.

 

Oh yes I remember that. RlGl was a white strip spleef was laggy as hell when it started.

 

Don't forget the game of luck: Minefield. And the snow forts? Oh god, nostalgia isn't always a good thing.

 

You can give people jumpboost 150 to prevent them from jumping

 

That is an interesting fact that I never knew

 

It looked a lot cooler but when the mini game started all the TNT was detonated and it would cause a lot of lag. Other servers like Hypixel have similar gamemodes that use TNT and gravel but it doesn't really fall and detonate like in vanilla, they just use plugins to remove the blocks when you run over them. (like our server)

 

In case this is not you are doing, you can use Command Blocks to automatically apply a potion effect to the people in your map, with the commend /effect...
