So, we all know about the huge debate: Which is better? iOS or Android? Vote in the poll, or post your opinion below.

    I'm just curious.

IOS is more user-friendly. Recommended for Asian women or any other technology noobs. Android is more sophisticated, with more functions, capabilities, and whatnot. Good for tech geeks. I don't know about Windows Mobile, though.

It all depends on what you prefer. Is is more for the well off people that have lots of money to spend on a phone. And an Android phone is cheeper and a nice alternative if you are looking for a robust phone for a good price.

    What is Averie?

As it turns out, more people are switching to Android from stats in 2013.
It's probably because it's cheaper and more versatile.
Android itself is free, you can download it at the Google Android code repositories.
But it's the phone that costs the money, which explains why iOS devices are so much more expensive.

    *Android
You don't have to learn a whole new language to develop for Android, whereas for iOS you have to learn Objective C.

I prefer Android over iOS. I currently own a Nexus 5 which is basically pure Android like iPhones are pure iOS. Customization, Google Now, Notifications, may I continue? I do, however, suggest for tech noobs to go for iOS as it is more simple and "basic", then you can go to the big boy stuff.

Google Now isn't packaged with android, it's packaged with GApps. If you got a pure android phone, it wouldn't even have Google Play.

Switch to Android. Then you won't ever need to buy a new phone again! Anyone else heard of Cyanogenmod?

I am certainly an apple fanboy *cough* iPhone 5 *cough*. Anyway, get Apple, because it is more unique in design, it has iOS7, and your friends will like your style change. Well, it is more expensive than some dumb android phone, but you can have a lot of cool games, calling system is easy and having an iPhone in your pocket will make your life easier. You have a really good internet acces and a lot of secret features. You will love this phone, if you like hipster-ish stuff, as I call it.

Android phones are gonna have a lot of free games and permanent jailbreak for apps, and it will be useful for mobile gaming, but on calling and accessibility, it will suck so much. Get either Nexus 5 or HTC one, those are the ones that I'd buy, however, also think of memory and your style. But at first, look how much you can afford to spend, and also all android phones look bad. I used to have Nexus with cool games, but it crashes early if too many files are installed/stored on it.

What do you mean by unique? Ever since Steve Jobs died, all Apple's been doing is copying Android features. As for cool games, all the games on the app store are also on play store, except better, because it's easier to deploy updates to apps on Android. As for style, you can customize your android all you want, or even go so far as to flash Cyanogenmod and customize everything how you want. Meanwhile, with IPhones, what can you customize? Your phone's wallpaper, and nothing else.

And on the topic of internet, android's internet connection is actually much faster, due to android being based off the Linux kernel. This also offers stability and root access, giving you much more power over your phone.

If you ask an app developer whether they would program for iOS or Android, they're going to say android, because android uses java, a basic language, while you have to learn a whole new language, objective C, just to write the simplest iPhone app.

IMO, if you have an apple device, the first thing you need to do is jailbreak it and install android.

iPhone has 4G internet, Siri, LWPs, iOS7 stuff, camera with auto-focus, a lot better keyboard, better note and map systems, synchronized safety system with custom passwords, tracker and even a lot better YouTube set-up. You missed out a lot. And there's more :V

The Galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod and GApps flashed has 4G LTE Internet with Google Chrome, S-Voice, Live Wallpapers, iOS7 stuff (because iOS7 features were ALL taken from Android), 13 MegaPixel camera with flash, autofocus, facedetect, and filters; various keyboards available off the market (I'll admit, the default android keyboard sucks), S-Note, Google Maps (which is also what iOS uses), Profiling system with passwords, G-Lock, and encryption, GPS Tracker, and the same YouTube app as on iOS.

All of this coded through the Linux kernel, so it runs 3 times faster.

And as for iOS, what kernel does it use? XNU, a port of GNU, which is Linux.

Android is more free in the apps. Apple wants money, they always get 30% of the purchases in the app store.
