Website Staff Application Changes

Disabling ratings is pretty good, as we'll have less people leaving the community. Perhaps we should remove all ratings in staff applications, resetting any likes and dislikes received from staff applications.

 

I was wondering why it said "You cannot post here". Thank you, and I think this was a good idea.

Lovely changes. The are quite appropriate. Good job, and may they hopefully work out c:

 

If they do spam, than they'll get banned long before they reach 1k posts. It's obviously noticable by the community when a forumer is spamming. I quite agree with GK. You have to be a very dedicated forumer to reach 1k posts (like me :V).

 

Not just spam, but general Off-Topic comments that are of no use.

 

At least we wouldn't have so many new members leaving from this point on.

 

If we are capable of keeping new member because of the mods constructive criticism, then McBrawl's forums will be even more popular.

 

I really like this. We'll have less people leaving because of directed hate.

 

These changes will greatly improve our community!

 

Pros:
-Applications will be accepted in a shorter period of time.
-Moderators can choose who they may want to work with, or who would be a good addition to the team.
Cons:
-A player can look good on paper, but bad in reality. (Players can uncover more issues with other players) Staff < Players

I think applications could go through two phases.
Phase 1: Staff judge the application and it will be denied or sent to the second phase.
Phase 2: The community will judge the applications approved by the staff.

 

This will solve a lot of raging on the post. This was a good change I would say.

 

Hopefully if people don't leave harsh comments on mod apps people might stay and realize how fun Mc-Brawl is.

I love these changes.
Ive always kinda found it weird when the poster leaves a comment of "ty" after every single comment on his/her app.
Then theres like 9 pages of comments and 60% of them are by the poster.
I like these changes

 

We, there went the thing that got me well known :V.
But I don't care about popularity. I do agree that members were harsh the user.
Maybe I can find a new place to live on the forums.
Ya'll might notice my post count go down at this point, but I don't car about count....
Anyways, it might not matter I n anyway soon.

This has it's pros and cons. It will solve many problems like spam, but it also has some things wrong. Let's just see how it goes for now.

I think there are definitely some pros and cons to this. One con might be that the more active and widely trusted members cannot say their opinion. The experienced ones who aren't moderators. Although one positive thing may be that new people cannot spam the applications to raise post count, etc. Although you are leaving out a mass majority of the community's opinions towards the subject. If there were an option to only reply a +1 -1 or +0 that would be best, but the ratings change was good. Overall, the idea and concept is good, but the fact that there are only so many moderators leaves out a whole lot of the McBrawl community.

 

There are benefits, and there are cons.
I don't know how this will turn out, but all I wish is the best for this community.
Let's see if this meets my goal.
