How to get rid of the annoying villager noises (It's still happening for me, I don't know about you guys):
Switch to the daniel's McWar texture pack, which can be seen here.

This will solve all the annoying noises, but the skins will still be there. Sorry about that.
(Lock this if this situation is already resolved for everybody)

Even if it wasn't a joke, I never even noticed there was annoying villager sounds because I've been using only Daniel's resource pack ever since he publicly released it.

What about using other resource packs with sound effects?

    I haven't tried it yet.
So far, the only resource packs I've tried are:
    McWar texture pack (original).
    Default.
    Daniel's.

Daniel's is the only one so far that disabled all the noise.

For some reason I never heard the sounds in the first place. But now that I think of it, I've always used faithful, and never take it off (I place my mc war resource packs over it). So that's probably why.

You could just always disable sounds, I never have them enabled which is why I probably never noticed this.

    I always have sounds off.
I usually listen to music or something, so the villagers don't affect me.
I am pretty sure they don't affect a lot of players.

It was an April Fools joke, so locking.
A simple solution would have been to get a sound pack with all default sounds, or simply downgrade to 1.7.4 or 1.7.2.
