Gamemodes and simplicity

    In terms of gamemodes on mc-war, I think we have too many.
    More gamemodes means less occurrence of favorites, and may cause the player base to boycott. I realize this is a worst-case scenario, but think of it this way: If you love playing CTF, then along comes mc-war 2.0 with Domination, a game mode never seen before, ctf will come up a lot less than it already is. If there's 5 gamemodes, there's a %25 chance of them being played. Now that a sixth one comes into play, there's only a %16.66 chance of CTF coming up. Even if it's a small change, it's still enough for one to be frustrated with every server playing Domination or Infect.

    My suggestion is to keep mc-war simple. Please! Too many features will make mc-war too complicated, and with complication comes frustration and players giving up. I'm not trying to get you to stop adding things, just reminding you that change isn't always for the better. :smile:

    Maybe. A lot of players like every game-mode. I do not think this is a good idea because war wants there to be a variety and not get bored

    OK, before I offer my opinion, I'll explain your incorrect facts. 5 game modes is a 20% chance for one of them to be played. And we have SIX gamemodes currently, Infect, Onein, TDM, CTF, FFA and Gungame. And I believe there are plans for three (?) new gamemodes in the update. There'll be Kill Confirmed, Domination and there may be another, I'm not sure.


    But now for my opinion, I think nine game modes is fine, but it should stop there, 10+ gamemodes gets a bit much.

    Anyway there is going to be new gamemodes in the update so you can't stop that, beside I like variety it makes it better for the servers and for the owner's pocket money.

    I don't like or dislike a gamemode more than the other

    You are correct on their being three new game modes. The third one is going to be called Golden Gun. So, in MC War 2.0, we will have 9 gamemodes all together (that is, all that are confirmed;maybe they have one never confirmed up their sleeve, we will have to see). Doing some math, each game mode will have about an 11% chance of coming up.
    I see where you are coming, and I do understand. I would love to play ctf more often. Now what about the people who love to play say infect or gun game. If you lower the chances of these gamemodes, and boost the chance of others, you are helping a few people and hurting others. Having each gamemode have an equal chance is fair for everyone. This way we do not have people complaing about not hacing enough of this gmaemode, or why does this game hace a bigger chance of coming up then this one. It keeps things simple and fair for everyone.

    My idea was to have a specific server or a designated queue for a certain gamemode such as walking into a portal for a game of CTF or TDM instead of having random gamemodes. This would take some time to revise, but in the end would be beneficial to the server and players.

    Not everyone loves CTF and not everyone loves individual gamemodes, most people like a variety of gamemodes, more variety is generally better, playing the same gamemodes over and over generally gets boring, especially playing ctf tdm and infect.
    I for one see no problem with having less ctf, all I see it as is a gamemode to get insanely good scores by spamming your guns at a certain part of the map.

    I really want more objective gamemodes, for two main reasons:

    1. To be honest, shooting at people and killing them is starting to get stale, and I can't bring myself to stand next to the flagpole while either my team forgets about me and rushes the front line, or the enemy team ignores me and tries to spawncamp. Having more gamemodes (like, more than one) that has any objective other than kill people/zombies will make scoring points something players think about more.
    That way, in Capture The Flag, somebody will actually Capture The Flag more often than not.

    2. The only real use I can find for the Flamethrower is rushing the flag and grabbing it while anyone who would normally shoot me is confused and on fire. This is currently only useful in maps like Hijacked and Dhahran because the flags are in front of the spawns, otherwise it's not necessary because no one sees me until I shoot them. I could imagine the Flamethrower being good at discouraging or distracting enemies from attacking domination points.

    tl;dr, People should be able to play objectives without being lonely and the Flamethrower sucks in most situations, but more gamemodes could give it more of those exceptions.
    I really want an excuse to set people on fire.
