Character limit/Ideas improvement?

    Lately I've seen a lot of really short posts, and I want to run this idea through everyone (no, not like a spear) and see what they think.

    Essentially, the idea is the title. A character limit to posts, so as to block spammers (I realize there is a double post protection sort of thing, but I mean for creating threads) or short, not very well thought-out applications.

    For example, if someone tried to make a thread about a new mc-war gun, they'd try to post "this is my idea for a gun: i want it to be a turret", a little red box would pop up (like the "1 new alert" one, but red) saying "This post is too short! Try to add more details!", or something like that.

    Also, in terms of Ideas, can we add a guideline? Like when you're trying to apply for a rank on creative, it'll automatically give a format to follow, like BrawlerAce_'s guide. (https://www.brawl.com/threads/9205/)

    EDIT: I feel like a hypocrite, this is quite a short post.

    A guideline for McWar gun ideas, that shows when you make the post, sounds good. I don't know about a character limit though. Sometimes a couple words and images are enough to start a discussion.

    This can easily be bypassed. I will use your example:
    See, you can just spam random characters to get past the limit. Obviously, you would be warned for doing that. You could also do something ridiculous like this:
    One more thing, sometimes, original posts to threads are meant to be short. An example would be some of the What If threads. You really can not go into much detail.
    This to.
    If you feel that the author did not provide enough information, feel free to ask them a question! Questions advance discussion, and they clear up confusion for some other people.

    No point in stretching things out. In fact, we should have a character limit on them so they don't get too long.

    Everybody submit their dead the way they want, how they want and how long they want. If you don't like someone's thread then just rate it with pointless.

    I've seen forums that do this stuff, you have no idea, absolutely, no idea, how annoying and unneeded it is.
