    True, but I have another idea.
    I mean, when would you actually need to zoom that far?
    I mean, probably only on big maps like DDay, so you wouldn't really need to move anyway.

    It can be rebinded in controls. It is button 3

    Some people can't or won't go that extra mile. Some mice don't even have separate right and left click buttons.

    Most people don't use trackpads anyway, so it won't be a problem. Besides, not being able to use it won't be much of an advantage.

    This might not work for all mouses. The one I use switches between modes when I press the middle button and gives me more scrolling options.

    One obvious downfall is that the packet probably isn't sent if you're facing the air. I'll look into more to see exactly how it works.

    I have a Mac Magic Mouse and it doesn't have a scroll wheel, it is just flat so it wouldn't work for people like me. Other than that it is a good idea.

    You can set it in controls.
    As GreySwordz said, what about when you point it in the air?
