    You know how annoying it feels when you're in the middle of OneIn, Gungame, or anything else and some guy comes up to you and smacks you with his sword while ignoring two perfectly good firearms in his inventory? Well I have something to counter that.

    First off, the knife should be buffed into a 1-hit KO knife in the actual COD. However, it will be nerfed dramatically afterwards.

    1. There's this potion effect I had before in other server called Mining Fatigue where the rate of swinging your hand will decrease a lot. Putting this in the sword in McWar should allow sword users to ignore their knives more often and instead use their guns.

    2. Range decrease. I've played on another COD based server and the knife in that server ranges up to 0.5 blocks which I personally believe we should add as well into McWar.

    These two nerfs should maintain the population of players who neglect their firearms and probably use their knife in more desperate occasions. The one-hit kill buff will counter the 2 nerfs. The greatest reason why I suggested this is because of coonboy's OneIn idea and how the gamemode is ruined partially because of the knife.

    I like this idea, seems pretty balanced. Now what will happen to the diamond sword? Will it receive the same thing but only like bigger range or less Mining Fatigue?

    There is one thing. With coding, you can cancel a hit event. So you could instead cancel the hit event for 1 second.
    Mining fatigue doesn't affect attacking after a certain point, so this would be better.
    Other than that, seems all good.
    Perhaps a way to counterknife if you switch to your sword and left click (or right click) quick enough.

    I do not agree with this.
    This is like saying "A guy got close to me and killed me with his knife, and I wanted him to use guns more so lets re-do the knives stats"
    Knives are fine how they are and I dont know anyone (any intelligent person) who will run into a crowd and start using a sword only to get shot by 3 people and die.
    If someone is getting killed by a sword when they have a gun, then that is their problem.
    Sorry, but in my opinion, the knives should not be changed at all.
    P.S. If you decrease range, then the person trying to knife will just get killed by a pistol at point-blank.

    So once again, it all comes down to "If a guy kills me with something, we should change it"
    EDIT: One fatal flaw in this. If this is implemented, both the iron and diamond sword are now the same thing. Then there is no incentive to donate.

    One shot knife + ForceField = Mining Fatique does nothing.... So I leave that as a +0 for now, because he wouldn't want a hacker with a sword coming in one shooting everyone with forcefield or kill aura because I believe the mining fatigue would be useless. (I think).

    I think this idea is fine, but you should only get mining fatigue when holding your knife, otherwise you can't quick scope.

    I really want to know what buff the superknife would get if the regular knife gets buffed.

    Diamond sword gets umm..

    Diamond sword can fire bullets. That's the buff.

    I think that the range shouldn't be decreased dramatically, but to like 1-2 blocks. Also the coding delay that BrawlerAce_ said would be nice. It'd be OHK (One-hit kill) with a cool down of around a second for the knife
    I would say that the superknife doesn get a range buff but for like 0.5 blocks, but a delay buff it would be able OHK and it's delay would be a 0.5 second delay with a 2.5 block radius.
    Honestly it'd make everyone use their guns, except for when you are out of ammo and have scavenger (it's happened, cause everyone was kill-stealing me) and make the knife more realistic in comparison to CoD.

    I agree, although I never use the knife. I always use my guns no matter how bad they are.

    Maybe have the range for standard knife be 1 and the superknife 1.5?
    0.5 would make the knife pretty much useless because you would pretty much have to be standing in the target to hit them, other than that sounds good.

    The super knife could always attack more quickly as well.
    Maybe slowness 3 for half a second to simulate a takedown? (eh)

    Here's what I think:
    Regular knife: Mining fatigue and range need but damage buff
    Diamond Knife: No mining fatigue and a bit further range
