Idea New ways for S-Mods to ban players.

I agree. S-mods need to be able to do that. Hackers'll (if they're smart) friend all the s-mods to get an alert when they leave/join so they can turn off hacks. However, if s-mods can fake leaving, this solves that problem.

There is a lot of things that could be done to make it a lot easier for us to catch hackers (make us undetectable by compass and Zombies etc.) But at the moment we have our focuses elsewhere and we tend to only use our own custom plugins here at Brawl.

But nonetheless I like it, even though I tend to friend very few people anyway.

 

Yeah... I was teaming with dimitranator, then someone was on the compass. We rushed and saw you flying. Then you went into vanish. Still on the compass. Not the best for catching hackers...

Super-Mods already have vanish, right? I saw putty catch a hacker once by doing so.

 

We catch hackers all the time with vanish. It's just the smart ones know how to tell if an SMod is near.

I like this idea, but there are also other ways we can be detected. GreenPeas mentioned a few, and there are some others as well. But our current method seems to work pretty well.

 

/vanish works almost the same way as the fake join/leave commands. If they're in /vanish, than they don't show up in the tab list so players don't think they're online.

 

I'd say I catch and ban around 20 hackers on a good day with the current methods, so it is difficult for me to criticise our current methods, but possibly this could have some use.
