New Gun Mechanic Ideas

    Hello Community! Before this server, I played a lot on a different server before I came (and stayed) here. There were some gun mechanics that I think could be added here and it would enhance the gameplay. Some of these ideas are original, some are from the other server.

    Shotgun Reloading
    : When you reload a shotgun, it would seem like you're putting in each shot, not a full reload like now. For example when you reload and you have 5 shots in a 10 shot magazine, it would reload quickly putting in one shot, then again and again. This mechanic makes it feel like you're reloading an actual shotgun.

    Exploding Crossbow Bolts: When fired, crossbow bolts explode a few seconds after landing. this would make the bow much more useful later in the game. The hunter class could be leveled by only having 4 or 5 shots. Bolts in chest would also be limited.

    Lower tier weapons having some advantage over higher tier ones: Right now, if you have a tier two weapon and you see a tier three one, you're most likely going to drop the tier 2 one and grab the tier 3 one. Having the lower tier weapon have some advantages over higher tier ones make for a more complex gameplay and load out decisions. I know this exists in the MSR having a higher clip and RPS then the Barret 50 Cal and the Famas having full automatic over the tier 2 weapon, but I think it could also be put in other places. Such as the Druganov having a much faster RPS and a 6 or 7 magazine size, but the tier 1 sniper has more damage. Also the Uzi can have more RPS then the Tier 3 SMG. Also, the Glock 17 should shoot faster, so it could be compared as almost an equal to the .44 Magnum. I know the point of higher tier weapons is a point in the gameplay but it seems sometimes it's "Whoever has the P90 or the Ak 47 Wins"

    Flamethrower shoots flames from the player, not projectiles that shoot like a gun: The point of a flamethrower is close range heavy damage. If the flamethrower shoots out flames in a 6-7 block radius, it cant be used to effectively snipe fire and it will eliminate projectiles hitting blocks near you and setting you on fire when you're fighting in close corders.

    I agree with all of these ideas. They really should be implemented.

    The Glock should be buffed in some shape or form. I do like the shotgun idea, makes sense.

    Glock and shotgun idea seem pretty good. I'm only wondering - how much damage will the bow's explosion do?

    If you hit a player with the crossbow bolt then I think it should be 10-12 damage (5 or 6) hearts with no armor.

    I like the shotgun idea a lot...
    You realize that if you buff lower tier guns to have some advantages, then they might better thsn the higher tier equivalent which is not the idea...
    Higher tier shiuld be better...
    Also, the bow idea has been stated before and it was disliked a lt.. go look at other threads before posting...

    Other than that, the ideas show promise!

    So basically, a spammable weapon without reload? I'm not sure how could it be balanced, maybe you have to pull the string back completely.

    Well aren't all guns spammable? Like the SMGs you can kill people in about 10 shots and there's hundreds of bullets. Arrows are rarer and you have to get a direct hit.

    Mc-War's crossbow is lethal from 1 block range. Not depending where hit, you'll die in 1 block radius. Clearly, you can just trap an enemy and spam arrows. I've even had a stack of them.

    I think these idea's are quite good, just the crossbow shouldn't be as lethal as it is in mc-war because, then fpshg could become unbalanced.
