    Hi Masters of Minecraft,

We've all wondered what it is like to be a MC-War Mod.....

    1. What are your biggest challenges?

    2. How long have you been a Mod?

    3. What do like most about being a Mod?

    4. What do you like least about being a Mod?

    5. How often do you play?

Thank you Mods! We appreciate all the work you do to keep the games fun and enjoyable.

This isn't answering the questions of course as I am not a moderator but I would like to take the time to give a big thank you to all of the amazing staff here working at Brawl. The moderators are friendly and calm and keep the people in game from ruining it for us normal players.

Now the admins who run Brawl. They do a fantastic job of managing to make the servers, forums and TS3 run effectively with issues that occur rarely. Also, I think they do a fantastic job of helping people on the forums and also add a bit of humor into it as well to stop themselves from seeming so plain.

This is a thanks to all of the staff here at Brawl.

Although I am not currently a mod I'll answer your questions anyways, to inform everyone else.

    1. What are your biggest challenges?
Dealing with glitchers is always annoying, since:
    A. You sometimes can't tell who glitched
    B. people will be like "OH THIS GUY GLITCHED KICK OR BAN PLS" and you have no proof anyways.

    2. How long have you been a Mod?
Before resignation I was a mod for a bit more than a year.

    3. What do like most about being a Mod?
The power to deal with rule breakers.

    4. What do you like least about being a Mod?
You have to be active on TS. I hate TS.

    5. How often do you play?
As often as possible, at least 30 min or longer if possible.

Hope this was informative even though I'm not a mod anymore.
Honestly, if you're like me, you wouldn't give a damn about the bad stuff about War, you would do your duty and enjoy doing it.

I feel like I should answer some of these... even though that would not make too much sense. I don't take any credit for trying to make this community great, however. Of course, anything I say here would refer to the past when I was staff.
To me, the biggest challenge wasn't really much. There is a sense of responsibility, which can certainly throw people off, but having that sense of superiority and reliance was a little off-putting at first, even though the forum community was significantly smaller a year ago.

My application was accepted at the beginning of August last year, and I was demoted for tsp activity at the beginning of May this year, totaling in 10 months of moderating.

What I loved about being staff was the feeling that I could actually help the community. Countless times I have been on the servers where there was a player who very clearly needed the work of staff to set them straight, and I severely wished I could have done something about it. But, unfortunately, as much as I tried, people just don't listen to anyone who doesn't have a staff tag. Being able to discipline players and help around on the forums gave me a sense of satisfaction that has yet to be matched.

The popularity of having a pink (back when that color was cool) tag does get you a lot of attention on servers, which for me I was not fond of. I'm more of a person to let my actions speak for myself and leave it at that, but I was still conversing with players with what they needed. Any kind of attention I am referring to is any kind of "omg olliesyd u are awesome!" or just any kind of compliments that go unresponded to, which I also feel bad that I can't even help everyone I meet on the servers.

Back then , it was hours a day. That's how I got to 100k in 6 months. Pretty much until I got an alt did I wane in server activity, but that was regressing in excessive server activity. I always made sure to get in a few hours of play when I could. Now, wit the responsibility of staff lifted, I can focus on other pursuits, which is why my server activity has almost entirely disappeared.

Again, I'm not trying to live in the glory days of my staff time, but only giving insight because requested. Happy to oblige in doing so.

When I was a mod I found it intolerable To go on war near the end. Only after I resigned I realized it had sent Me into a depression. Also **** my phone.

Seeing as I was a War mod I could still tell you all these things
    1. What are your biggest challenges?
Making people understand you are just a volunteer and not the guy that can code a gun just because I am a mod, or fix the lag, or tell the almighty chicken about your ideas because I am a mod. As mentioned, there were times in which you go to yourself was that a glitch? Another one would be when basically EVERYONE goes OOM and you have to warn every player and instruct them multiple times how to get out and then having to kick the ones that don't listen. Oh yeah and speaking about this is people not listening to me, be extremely rude to others and basically not caring about anything. And those glitchers that leave as soon as they glitch and you have to do a human tracking trying to find their butt and have a word with them.

    2. How long have you been a Mod?

    2 months :v Resigned

    3. What do like most about being a Mod?

I get the opportunity to help people, most people listen to a mod rather to a normal player. I was easily approachable, and it always was a relief a player could leave satisfied with their questions answered. I did what I wanted war mods to do when I wasn't mod. Also, the ability to control rule breakers was fun, especially when I stayed low profile and lured no attention, players seem to get a little coco when there's no mods. Also the fact people listened to me when I told them to stop arguing was satisfying. Basically, having the authority to improve the community was one of the best parts. I did my best to enforce rules and helping people.

    4. What do you like least about being a Mod?
Demands. People also tend to target you with insults, complaints, and flaming. Also, I hate ignorance which I found to be sadly common in some servers.
Basically, you are targeted with the negativity of players who do not like moderators of any kind.
    5. How often do you play?
I played every day, for a few hours. I rarely play, as I play IRL hue.

Hope this helps, sorry if it feels a little bit bleh as I am typing from a phone.

I'm not really sure what it's like to be a war moderator experienced being a WarZ mod but the community in War is not as bad compared to WarZ but it's still bad (I think)

    Another ex-mod, just passing by.

    1. What were your biggest challenges?

Enforcing the rules without ruining people's fun, making the time to be on Skype, TS3 and Ingame, and not letting my prejudices affect my decisions. As a mod, it's easy to abuse power, and you need to remember what's at risk when you attempt to interfere in ways you shouldn't.

    2. How long had you been a Mod?

I was a mod for 6 months. I was accepted in late September and resigned in late march. I didn't have the time or conviction to continue, and rather than be demoted, I decided to go of my own accord.

    3. What did you like most about being a Mod?

The fact that I was able to make a positive difference. Being an experienced war player, I empathized with those under fire from Glitchers, Hackers, and general unpleasantness, and felt happy knowing I brought some solace to people.

    4. What did you like least about being a Mod?

Dealing with MC-Brawl's worst was often extremely unpleasant. Although most threats were empty, it was somewhat annoying when a screaming child threatened to DDoS and Dox me.
That, and having to answer absolutely stupid questions like "how do i fire my gun??1" etc. once a minute. It meant I often spent more time typing then playing.

    5. How often do you play?
Now, close to none of the time. Too preoccupied with my academic work (which I take extremely seriously), playing guitar (I'm pretty much dedicated), playing other games (mainly TF2, it's addicting.), pony stuff (I do a ton of creative stuff within the community), and seeing my irl friends/being social.

    1. What are your biggest challenges?

Glitchers, it's really hard to see who glitched.

    2. How long have you been a Mod?

    A week now.

    3. What do like most about being a Mod?

Being able to enforce the MC-War / McBrawl rules without being told "Well your not a mod!".

    4. What do you like least about being a Mod?

Hmm, I would say it's kind of hard for me or moderate during school however I manage to moderate two hours a day after school. However I prefer moderating in the summer.

    5. How often do you play?

In the summer I'm able to be on most of the day, during school I can be on at least an hour. However on some days (Fridays) I can be in TeamSpeak, forums, and in game for two hours.

    1. What are your biggest challenges?
As Blockalots said above, probably trying to get the time to be active on Teamspeak, Skype, the forums, AND in game, especially when I'm only on 5 hours a day. This was a tough one for me, but I found a way.

    2. How long have you been a Mod?
I was only a mod for around 2 weeks, then resigned.

    3. What do like most about being a Mod?
It gives me a chance to do something about this community we have, without being called a "Teacher's pet" or something like that.

    4. What do you like least about being a Mod?
As I said above, having to be active on Teamspeak, forums, and in game. Mostly Teamspeak, and especially during the school year.

    5. How often do you play?
When I was still a mod, I played Brawl around 5 hours a day, sometimes more. Now, I still play it a lot, but a little bit less then I was.

Most people think achieving moderator is a great accomplishment, which, it honestly is. However, it's a lot more difficult than you would expect. If 100 people on this server got mod, I am willing to bet over half of them will resign due to how much dedication and responsibility it takes.

When you apply for mod, be sure you think about if you really want it. Because a lot of people just want it for the power to tell people what to do.

Can't copy the questions on phone, so I will just use the numbers.

1.) Players who think they know everything better
    2.) 1 Year 1 Month and 9 days
3.) Being respected for doing a good job
4.) Being asked to change the map
5.) Every day when I have access to my PC, but I often hop from server to server if I see nothing that need to be taken care of.
