Mc-War Moderation Problems

My home server is 12 and I see @JakeXBL and @SweetLava on all the time. I don't know about the other servers, so I can't really make a point there. I agree with you, though, there's 12 War mods now, why not assign one for each server?

 

That would be quite simple. I remember how if you logged onto a specific server, there would be a specific staff member on (Roke on 6, Mafia on 1, Brawler on 5). Now Poske has 1, and the rest I do not know.

The community needs to help report these people. I remember when the community was sooooo much better . I mean the mods can't do it ALL .

 

I honestly don't like server 1, so ^this doesn't apply to me. The chat is always being spammed etc but there always has to be at least 1 mod on, on server 1 at all times thats why you will always see a mod on on 1 because the majority of the rule breakers are on 1. There might be some times where there aren't any mods on on 1 but we can be busy on other servers. I spend my time starting from 1-12 and spend about 20-30 mins on each, answering any questions and cleaning the chat up.
We are trying our best to stop all the noob calling, in-chat hackusations, spam etc. It may look like we aren't stopping them, this is because we PM them instead of saying it in chat, so if someone starts being rude to another member i will message them and tell them to stop being rude.
I only join server 1 to moderate the server, i don't like playing on it but i do have to see who glitches etc so i stay in one place on server 1 instead of playing.
So it isn't just server 1 mods go on, i also go on server 8 even if there are 10 people on it sometimes.
So overall the staff members are trying their best but there can also be problems on ts which we have to sort out.

May i also add that when you reply to someone being rude, you're not making matters any better for yourself. He said that you were never joining a clan and you said get a life? If you respond to what Joshua said with a negative response you're also in the wrong and you're making him get angrier, which we don't want. We want people to be calmer, so next time if someone says something negative to you then just ignore him/her or do /war chat.

 

I am going to try and stick to server 1. When I was on earlier today, the server was relatively calm due to the fact that I was online. As long as another moderator watches over the server while I am gone, server 1 should be fine.

I do see most of the mods on server 1, but, some mods do their jobs better than others.

 

Mario left Team Holy and I quit WarZ to make the community happy a few days ago. This statement confuses me.

We want our Moderators to feel free to moderate any server they want. We don't want to put restrictions on them, because the game would no longer be enjoyable to play, leading to a resignation. That's why we don't restrict them to play on one war/WarZ/party server. We want our servers to be enjoyable, even for our Moderators.

 

The truth is that server 1 is the one most chat active so it also needs a lot of moderation. On servers like 7 or 8 there isn't to much to do as moderator, cause even in the breaks there aren't many players chatting.

We already have the rule that there should only be one mod on a server, if another one joins he is supposed to go to another server. As far as I see me and the other war moderators mostly follow that rule.

And there are 12 servers and only like 10 moderators (dunno the exact amount), so we can't be everywhere.

 

I remember I created a rant like this a while ago, but since then, I haven't seen that as much as a problem. When I was mod, I moderated literally all servers. I usually spent 20 or 30 minutes on each one at a time, and before I left for another server, I let them know to what server I was going to in the chat so they could contact me if someone was breaking a rule. However, a problem I see about this is that a lot of the mods stay on one server for a while, instead of hopping servers like they're supposed to be. Yes, they do hop servers, but only after they've been on the same server for around an hour. I'm not going to rag on mods like poske or Sweet, because they're newer mods and I know Sweet is already starting to get the hang of this. But, seriously, the last time I saw jayden on a War server, he was on there for around an hour, and then two more mods came online (I remember one of them was Dark, I forget the other one).

I agree that the mods need to spread out more often, but I'm starting to see a slow change in the way these people are moderating.

 

Let's make this a bit like a workplace.
Mods should get shifts or minimal requirements.
For example, Lord_Roke by be entitled to 90 minutes of moderator server 1 before he can go play for fun or go cover other servers. And Jake may be entitled to server 5 but only get 30 minutes, because he is a trial mod and only gets to moderate 1/2 the time (by minimum standards) of the accepted mods. If their server that they are moderator has less than 10 server, they can move to to a different server that doesnt have a mod in it.
An example:
Buddycrack: Server 3 for 70 minutes
Poskeharen: Server 1 for 45 minutes (trial)
Lord_Roke: Server 12 for 60 minutes
SweetLava: Server 5 for 30 minutes (trial)
JakeXBL: Server 11 for 30 minutes (trial)
munkeyw3nch: Server 2 for 80 minutes
To make the servers best moderated.

 

Here's an idea. You know how you can see the population of players in each server from the hub? Moderators should use this to their advantage and join the more popular servers on McWar and McWarZ. If there is already a moderator in that server, then the mod will join another one.

 

This sounds like a very good idea. Peas is going to begin tracking moderator's playtime so this idea would slide right in. Peas could assign shifts for all moderators, (Not just War), and if a moderator was not complying with his/her shift, they would need to be talked to.

That is exactly what I try to do and I know many moderators do exactly the same thing.

 

No thats not true at all. And even when I see mods on, they dont react to noob/hacker accusasions. They just react to big stuff like racism and excessive swearing. Sometimes I get reminded that they are on when I get killed by their c-bow. And if they tell the deafant by /msg , it defenitly doesent do a crap. Also server 1 is WORST but that dosent mean that the other servers dont need moderation. At peak time, all servers are pretty hostile.

 

@JoshuaWolff has turned 180 degrees in McWar lately, he changed himself, became respectful and mature, thats why we're giving him another chance. He realized that in order to stay in FLUX he must be mature and now he really changed, you guys have my word, and having my word means that if Joshua didn't actually change, I'll be kicking him.

 

I was respected before I was a mod. Also Joshua tends to over exaggerate a lot, I've warned him many times, yet he continues the same things over and over (nuff said about that.)

In terms of spreading us out on specific servers wouldn't really work out, we're not all on at the same time, as for me I get on later in the evening because believe it or not I have a life during the day and I go out and do stuff. If you have problems with players just ignore them and don't look at the chat, simple.

 

I am playing MC-War sometimes. And even though that I'm not a War Mod, I have the Global Moderator rank which means that I can moderate the server I'm on. I usually go on high numbered servers where there are a lot of players on (ex. nr 12), but also other servers.
Anyways, I do see some of the MC-War moderators on the high numbered servers, some quite often actually (not going to tell you any names).
The disrespect is a problem, yes. But have in mind that the MC-War moderators can't play 24/7. Some players are just in the wrong place in the wrong time.
