    Great for now, just make the map bigger and it could get accepted. If the poll was included, I would vote +1

    My question is...How on earth am I supposed to make it bigger if the plots given in the creative where I make them on mcbrawl are only that big???? If you want it bigger then I need to be given a bigger plot.

    I'm pretty sure you could pm chickenputty for a download of the default creative map, maybe you could expand the plot beyond in that world, then list coords for us to /tppos to in singleplayer of the plot.

    An interesting thought. I'll look into it. It is rather frustrating that it says when you log into creative on mcbrawl that you can create a map for the wars, but it is already known that it won't be accepted because the plots are too small.

    If you want a bigger plot, I'd recommend you apply for the AdvBuilder rank here. With this rank, you get a massive plot that's perfect for building large scale maps.

    More detail and terrain variation. this has potential but so far it looks bland. Just spice it up and give it perspective.

    I agree this map needs some more detail like like a real first person shooter game would.

    By the way, the map skidrow should be removed from the server if my map is too small because it isn't any bigger.

    What skidrow lacks in size, it makes up for in terrain/buildings, and general map layout. While you do have a wonderful start here, I wouldn't say it's ready to be implemented. Try rethinking the overall map design. Make the terrain more interesting; make it more 3-d and believeable.Add innovative things such as underground passages, for example.

    I like it! Just maybe add more height and more space to run around and shoot. Otherwise I really like the detail of the map and the colour. You're on the right track, just pay attention to these little suggestions everyone is giving you and it would be the perfect map. +0 :smile:

    If I create a whole map like that it will take ages and I can't know if it will be accepted or not so I could just be wasting my time.

    1. The look: Add more detail to the floor because it looks tiny bit boring.
    The buildings are ok so far but the floor is pretty empty.
    2. The size: ok in my opinion.

    Good maps require days, weeks, even months to create. Everything takes a certain amount of effort, attention and focus. You can't just half-ass a multiplayer map and expext it to be implemented. People play on these maps. This is partially what keeps players coming back for more. In order to make a good map, you're going to need to commit both your resources and your time. There's no way around it; no shortcuts, no alternate or easier paths.

    I agree that time and effort must be put into it.....How long would you spend building a map?....look at the map "dome" and tell me if that's any better, because after careful analysis you have to conclude that it is by far the smallest map you will play on the server. What has happened is they have taken an already small map and added a few terrain variations and buildings to make the actual gameplay area even smaller. So in the end you have a small map with an even smaller gameplay area, and somehow because it has terrain variation it is acceptable. How much time do you think went into that? anyone can drop a few tnt in a snow biome and then build some walls and buildings and call it a map. That doesn't make it a good one. My point is this, If my map has been rejected because it doesn't reach server standards then maps like "skidrow" and "dome" need to be reassessed as well. I don't expect my map to be added if it doesn't attain to the server standards, but my point about the maps that are used in relation to the map I've created still holds. You need to work out what the standard is because otherwise your decisions will become bias. In addition I would add that on the map I've created there are multiple ways to get on the roofs and even up in the trees. Access to trees does not add terrain variation but it does offer a change and is something that isn't fully employed in any map currently in use on the server. When you can bring something new to the server, that is when you have achieved success.

    As you have pointed out, perhaps I may be being a bit biased. Most of all, because skidrow is one of my favorite maps. However, again, what skidrow lacks in size, it makes up for in design. The combat environment is more than a 2-D playing field, it has multiple levels; it feels like it has a degree of dimension (I may just not be explaining my point very well here). Even Dome, which again, I feel is a very stable map, has that feel to it. It's not the space that matters, it's how one uses it. Perhaps less time went into dome because hey--it's based off an actual map, where yours is (I believe) completely original, and I applaud you for that. I'm in no way trying to insult you and/or your work, and I'm not saying that this map is straight up bad. I'm just saying, the map feels flat, and it could use some work. It doesn't seem very dimensional to me. Now I'm no building expert, or judge, and I've tried to offer what I believe to be constructive criticism, but perhaps this style of map just doesn't appeal to me.

    Edit: Another problem is that screenshots only reveal so much. Maybe a separate server for beta testing new maps before they're implemented into mc-war might be a good idea.
