After Microsoft purchased Minecraft the other day, a 10 year old girl called Sabrina wrote to Microsoft's CEO.
    Here is what she wrote.

    'Dear Mr. Nadella,

So I’ve heard the news that Microsoft might buy Minecraft, one of my favorite games. Kids like me — and teens — love the game, so I have a message for you and everyone at Microsoft: please don’t change it!

People like me love Minecraft the way it is — educational (parents really like that part), and really fun.

Minecraft is educational because you have to earn your stuff. If you want milk, you milk a cow. If you want diamonds, you start mining, and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find some.

Yes, you really mine in Minecraft — it’s just like the real world. You have to grow your own food to eat, too, and you have to sleep every night to fill up your energy. You shear sheep to make carpets and beds, and you chop down trees for wood so that you can build things. And you mine things like gold and iron to make very strong swords and armor.

Swords and armor are important because of the Creepers, which come out at night. In Minecraft, Creepers can kill you unless you kill them. That’s part of what makes Minecraft so fun!

You can choose to play Minecraft in two different modes: “Creative” and “Survival.” The Creative mode lets you build anything you want (it’s like being in the Lego Movie. You feel free as a bird — it’s awesome). In Survival mode you have to earn your materials and fight with Creepers to survive. It’s about risk-taking, and it’s totally cool!

That’s why Minecraft is perfect the way it is: You can choose to build any way you want, making amazing creations, or you can build like you’re in the real world, and do amazing things.

Everyone I know, both boys and girls (except for Ruth), loves Minecraft the way it is. So, Microsoft, you should know that we all want to keep Minecraft the same!

    Thanks for reading!

    Sabrina'

Surprisingly, there was a response :

    This was what Microsoft wrote:

    Dear Sabrina,

I saw your letter to Satya last week and since we announced today that Microsoft is buying Minecraft, I wanted to send you a reply.

Thank you for taking the time to explain all the reasons you, your friends and even your parents love Minecraft. I liked your letter and I am really glad that you are a fan of the game. Minecraft is all the things you said it is – educational, creative and most of all, fun.

I am very lucky that my job lets me work with game creators from around the world. I get to play amazing games every day. I guess it is not surprising that I love Minecraft, too.

One of the best things for me is that I see so many people making great things in Minecraft. I have this dream that a bunch of new game creators are learning and building their very first “game” using Minecraft. It is really cool that you can create whatever you want – in the real world or using your imagination to make your own world. As a fan of the game, you know that the possibilities are endless. You never know, Sabrina, if you study hard and keep creating, you might create your own Minecraft one day!

I want you to know that we plan to keep all the things that people love about Minecraft the same. We will look for ways to make Minecraft better with more opportunities for players to play, connect and share together.

Keep the feedback coming and I hope you and your friends (maybe even Ruth) will love playing Minecraft for many years to come.

    Sincerely,

    Phil Spencer

    Head of Xbox, @XboxP3'

I like how the things people love about Minecraft are staying, but the quote below....
I sure hope it's not annoying stuff like voice chat. Hopefully we get something that's actually useful, like being able to send worlds or something, I don't know.

Have you actually seen the video for that questioned what would happen if minecraft had voice chat? I think itsjerryandharry or whatever the name was made it (been away from MC on youtube for like over a year)
No? Here it is. Pretty much what could happen though. Video is a little dumb, but just envisioning what could happen.
TS works fine, just saying that as well.

I'd laugh if Chap got mail from Minecraft/Microsoft saying this:

We want to use your gun plugin as real code for Minecraft. Minecraft is now connecting to other games, such as Call of Duty. We'll pay $10,000,000 to take the rights of your code. Kthxbai.

    - Love Microsoft

Microsoft would probably do it themselves since the current gun plugin is limited v:

Voice chat in Minecraft? Oh god, NO. xD

Quite a nice little letter. Nice that she got a response. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the fact Microsoft bought Mojang, but I guess it's far too early to judge the outcome.
