Compasses not working! :(

    So 2 days ago the compasses have not been working, no matter what I choose, Towns, Friends, Enemies, It keeps pointing down.

    You are probably useing optifine.

    Turn "animations" on.

    As Choci said, if you're using Optifine, make sure you turn your animations on. Otherwise, all animations (which includes the compass spinning) will be frozen.
