    some servers are regularly laggy, try join a server where everyone is

    The only time I would get a high ping is when my internet is going down. Have had that router for over 10 years I would say. I don't get higher than 50fps in-game with optifine. The only other programs I have in the background running is skype and sometimes Hamachi.

    My FPS is a bigger issue than my ping right now, might just be me.

    A few months back I was getting 70-100 ping... Then randomly in the middle of a game my ping jumps to 1500. This is now happening each game and I've learnt to adapt to the lag.

    about every 5 seconds i go from 100 ping to 2300 ping
