    ~McBrawl Moderator Application~
Foreword: I am aware that many of those to pass judgment on my application will attempt to view my activity on the forums as a bit lacking. And as such I will explain on my viewpoints as well as causes on both throughout the application. I’ve come to meet and make acquaintances with many staff members on Brawl, however I ask you to judge me not on our fun and good times. But for my tenacity as a potential Moderator, thank you.

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? -
I am both active and helpful within the Trinity of McBrawl. Seeing how its important to be a face on all fronts, as well as being knowledgeable when confronted with certain tasks or questions. I’ve been around the Brawl community for quite some time, and I have enjoyed staking my claim here as well.

    • Server: I play Skywars fairly often. Now, I might not be the best at it by any means, though I will attest to my occasional moments of saving grace. Anywhere from 3-5 hours a day I will spend on Minecraft. And 85% of that on Skywars. Generally when I am on Teamspeak, based on the general flow of conversation, we will reach a consensus on what to play next as a group. Besides, it’s a lovely feeling to hear Chongis & Quin raging at me in Skywars.
    • Teamspeak: This is one of, if not my strongest point to rest on. My Teamspeak activity over the past few months has been exemplary. Even at times where it might be a competitive match with my group, I still choose to stay in public channels. I do my best to present myself in a friendly and polite manner… even to those whom possess rather unsavory qualities. I’ve been fortunate to find a few friends and make new ones as well, so overall. I would say that my activity in this field, is simply superb.
    • Forums: I have seen the forums and participated on them for a few months now. Prior to my registration on the forums, it was a place I would check, to gander at new events or changes to servers. Eventually, I figured I would get into making my introduction and debut appearance onto both WarZ and the forums. I was making a video that same day, and unfortunately ran into a hacker the same day. Not the best start, but aside from that it was a nice trip to getting where I am now. I traded a high post count in favor of higher quality through my posts. Ended up getting far more likes that actual posts for quite a time. So, my activity there is fairly often. I may not post as frequently as some users but my activity is unmatched.
Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? - I've recorded a number of various rule breakers across a number of servers. McBrawl being no exclusion. Altogether over the years possibly 80+? There are however quite a few number of factors which could attribute to the illusion of fair play. Lag, FoV, miscommunication, etc. However, there's certain issues that just do not have any exclusion from penalty.

    How old are you? -
    18
What time zone are you in? - Eastern Standard

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - My initial experience with this open world sandbox world draws back quite a few years ago. I was staying out of town with a friend of the family, and I remembered they had a kid. So I was excited to meet someone new. That week was the first time I ever really got into PC gaming. It was quite a unique experience for me, not having a controller anymore. We browsed among a few browser MMOs or free to play games. Then he began raving about a title under the name of Minecraft. Now this was back in the old days where in creative blocks of water didn't even flow in some versions.
I began to see the true expanse of the virtual world, and was captivated by such an enthralling universe. When I returned home, I obsessed with the game and all related paraphernalia. Rifled through the various crevices of the internet for a download of the game, anything beyond the creative free version. I eventually caught a Portuguese copy of Beta 1.2, with optional inventory editing. My monitor resembled that of the screen shots, with a health and armor bar. The thrill coursing throughout my body was unreal.
So I dumped my time into that world. Taking to the wiki as I called friends, trying to figure out his to build a pick, bed, just the simple things. Where my mind wandered my eyes sought answers, and so brought me to here. I've been around before the official release and beta 1.8 is still by far my favorite patch ever. Though I currently run full version 1.7.10 when I play.

What is your experience with moderating servers? - I've been staff on a number of servers, as well as assisted in the creation of a few others. I'm familiar with a small community of 8-12 players or a larger one of 500+. I don't have any supportive evidence of my experience, though I suppose that's what makes it an experience. Something I can look back on, and move forward with, my only proof being that from my own actions, knowledge, and conduct.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - I will provide a source of both enlightenment and entertainment. Allowing both sides of work and play to be made known to the community. I will provide a force of order and peace, to an otherwise occasionally chaotic environment. Lastly, I'll just provide each player and member I come across, with as much help and respect as the next.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - The closest I've gotten would be Forge. The different Mods available are the extent of which I've diverted from the normal game. Though I'm well versed on the abilities of hacks, and the latest trending ones.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - No.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? - I consider myself quite a great deal active. Usually playing with any number of friends or community members, and even at times on my own. I spend a fair amount of time within the serves themselves.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? - I would personally consider my TS activity to be exemplary. I've met a large majority of the staff members, and usually I garner my own following when I join a channel. Any activity from general conversation, music related, resolving disputes, or even recording in a group, I like to think I'm very well known on Teamspeak.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? - I believe my forums activity is quite high. Though I'll be honest in terms of measurement. I don't view the matter of activity by posts, though I do have a few. I'm on, viewing threads, making my own, checking out any events, and more importantly listening to the voice of the community. That in its own, speaks for activity. And for anyone in disagreement with me, be assured my post count will only increase further beyond this point.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I'm a very tactical, analytical person. I can look at an issue or situation, devise a strategy for it and execute.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - I'm a perfectionist. Despite the overall outcome of a task, I'm rarely ever satisfied with my own work. So it gets a bit frustrating always trying to beat yourself.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? - A minor issue, I'll usually notify the offender and check them upon it. Explaining both what is wrong and why. Treat them with respect however, not intentionally trying to embarrass anyone.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? - Depending on the actual offense again, I'll be a considerable bit more stern with the offender. By this point he/she knows what is being done. However it's still a minor offense.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? -
Ah, it's at this point apparent that no further talking will bring about a resolution. Instead, discipline must be brought about to end the plight of offenses by the person in question.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? - Either clarify if there was a misunderstanding due to my error. Or, acknowledge and thank them for bringing about the correct answer.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? - In my own area: edit the post, correct the user, lock the thread.
In another section: correct the user, report the thread/post, request movement to proper section, contact Smod+ if higher action is required.

When would you lock a thread? -
"Look for reasons not to lock a thread, instead of trying to close it" - Putty
Basically, if a thread has gone off topic you can remind them of the original discussion. However if that doesn't seem to advance the progression back on track, then I would lock. Outside of that, duplicate threads will be locked with other related or 'likenesses' linked in the bottom. A thread with no intent but to rage will be locked. A Hackusation post or video will be locked and the Report a player page will be linked. A post in the wrong section will be locked while waiting for movement to the correct forum. Gravedug posts without reason or adequate contribution will be locked.

    Describe yourself in 3 words:
    Tactical, Talented, Intellectual

Anything else we should know about you? -
I am a fan of anime, though I don't obsess over any of them. I'm an avid writer, gamer, and I also do work throughout the week. I play a number of other games, and I just generally enjoy what life has to offer. I played football, track, and swimming. Also served in ROTC.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - Don't assume it's cheating, bullet knock back is strong at times. Properly identify the player as well as the map and game mode, attempt to isolate the area of escape. Ask the player to then suicide or /war leave. Report your findings to staff if anything is beyond the ordinary.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? - No. Plugins are custom built by the coders, Orange etc, however I have a general understanding of how the game mechanics play. As well as the commands operating on a /kick instead of a ban. Anything else I won't have much trouble learning.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? -
    Yes Sir.

Edit: Unbolded text at the request of staff.

Hey Raziah! It's great to see that you finally applied for staff, let's get down to the overview.

Application: +1. Flawless; you know why.

In-game: +0. I see you around here and there in-game, but it seems like you play more on the servers you didn't apply for.

    TS: +1.
As you stated in your application, your TS activity is formidable. I see you on almost every time I log onto TS; you definitely need no improvement there.

Forums: +1. Your post count is a bit low, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Players have gotten accepted before even when they didn't have 300+ posts, so I don't see why you shouldn't. You obviously aim for quality over quantity and that's great.

Overall: +1. If you worked on your in-game activity some more, I could see you getting accepted really easily because all of your other fields show great work.

    Good luck.

Very much appreciated my good Sir. I do look to seeing you soon however. The Archangelic Guild always seeks new members to join the skies.

Or just ask cuddle. She let's me answer the community questions in her absence when it gets a bit hectic.

Alright Raziah, my thoughts on your application

Application: +1 Your application was very will written, and detailed

In-Game: +0 I see you in-game from time to time, but I feel like you could improve on being more active.

TS: +0 This may come to a shock to you, but the reason I'm giving you a +0 is because you may be active on ts3, and in public channels but I have seen you insult players and be rude to them.

Forums: +0 You have 240+ forum post, it is recommend 300+ now saying that, I read what you said but even if you do read over most threads, that doesn't really show you helping people on the forums. Replying to threads in my eyes, shows that you are trying to either help the thread owner, or stating your opinion.

Overall: +0 I feel like you would be a great addition to the staff team, but you could improve on some things first. Your application was very will written, your in-game activity lacks some, your ts3 activity is very good, but you are rude to players at times, and your forums activity is a bit low. Overall +0 I wish the best of luck to you!

Edit: Thanks chopo for the outline!

    I appreciate your review.

I am active in game, you can ask a few of the members that still get on SPvP. I've spoken with Roke & Cuddle as well. I do my best to be helpful while there.

As for TS I am on pretty much whenever I am available. You ask just about anyone, they'll know who I am.
And for Insulting players and anything forth you can ask just about anyone, that's the kind of thing I put a stop to.

I posted my app with about 115-ish posts. I also work full time. So, between posting this app. And working till about 12am on thanksgiving. I managed to get a hundred posts up. So I still stand by my first testament towards my application is getting the 300 posts the community seems fixated around as the standard.

    Thank you for your evaluation.

    Hi Raziah.
To get started, your application really is nice and detailed, although I did manage to spot out a few typos, but that doesn't really concern me too much. I do see you quite often on TeamSpeak, and typically in public channels considering the fact that I have spoken to you before.
In game, I was a bit surprised only because I haven't seen you that much on Survival. It seems to me that you play more servers than Survival. Additionally, I haven't really seen you being that helpful on PvP, but we might just have never been online at the same time. (Just a reminder, the screenshot you provided is just one example, you have to be helpful all the time.)
On the forums, your recent messages don't appear to be really helpful or insightful, or even thoughtful. A lot of your messages in the past day have came from a time span of maybe 2-3 minutes at most, and they aren't really that helpful in my opinion (such as 5-10 word answers or suggestions). I mean like saying "oh yush", etc. even if it is to a relatively random thread. It just seems more like spam or message boosting rather than making more tactical or intellectual comments.

All aside, I'm going to give you a +0. I know I was a bit more picky for you, but I just want to help you become better for the future. You should work on becoming more helpful in my opinion, but good luck, and I hope to see you around.

Thank you on the app comment, I did work a bit at that.

As far as survival goes, I do play fairly often actually. Whether its alone or with friends. My work schedule has been hell, beyond all belief. However, I do make time to get on whenever possible.

I also have had screens of Advertising, as well as other things in addition to just helping out. In my opinion, were I to simple take a screenshot of each individual thing I assisted someone on. That wouldn't look as right either. I know what the duties of a staff member are, and as a result of that I do my best to fulfill said duties prior to any rank whatsoever.

And in regards to my forums count. The praised rating is about 300+. I do avoid going for 3-5 word posts, as that is simply insulting that you'd waste your time on such a meager response. For some time before the spike now, I had 100+ positive ratings before I had a hundred posts. I prefer to take a more laid back and gentle approach to a thread. Instead of having to resort to posting all the time 24/7. However. In the span of 48 hours, including my work schedule. I feel I've managed to do a fair bump in my own opinion, pardon if it sounds a bit egotistical.

I have presented the community with my application, and I am now showing the same public of my willingness to be a part of it. If that consists of posting frequently to meet whatever standard has so forth been defined then so be it. I wish I could talk to you a bit more on teamspeak,as I personally feel much like Chopo, you'd see the actual metal of Staff Aspirations.

Yeah, I have definitely spoken to you a lot on TeamSpeak, if not at least I have seen you online frequently
I just believe that your helpfulness in-game, and on the forums could be boosted up a bit more, but that is the only thing that I could use against you.
But yeah, you definitely seem more of a responsible person than most people, and it should be interesting to see what you have in store.

That was actually very motivational. I spent today teaching players about the shop. And even recorded a how to video. So I do look forward to making a gradual impact in SPvP

I believe you're mature and active enough for moderatorship. However, I'm a bit confused as to why you say 85% of your time on Brawl is spent on Skywars? If this is a mistake, let me know. Otherwise, +1 and good luck.

Oh, it's because one of the newer servers on McBrawl. And because of that, that is where a high part of the traffic is going to move its way towards. In addition to it being fun. No staff ranks assigned to it, means basically no patrolling authority. And as an overall result of that, things get a bit out of hand.

I was informed that Staff does work from a Trial Basis -> Global rank as well. So I do play around among all the McBrawl servers to try and be acclimated with them. I hope that'll clear up a few of your questions.

    Hey Raziah!
Application: Nice, well written detailed application. +1
In-game: You mention that you are very active on Skywars but not the server you are applying for. When you posted this app was when I began to see you in-game. You do help people out from time to time, and do a good job at that. Overall for this section I'd say -1 for now.
TS: You are extremely active on team speak. In joining some public channels that you are in, there are some moments when you are disrespectful. -1
Forums: PvP survival section is not that active, which I understand. +1
Overall: With this, I would have to say +0 for now. You definitely have moderator qualities and would love to see you apply in the future.

Appreciate the App Comment, I worked a bit on writing it.

In my mentioning Skywars, was because that was the new craze among Brawl. Not to at all take away from my Survival App. I've played among friends, rivals, enemies since the beginning of its release. In a base made by Ex Staff member- Mr. Wolfy. You've also known and seen me to play on Survival prior to my app, however I have only Recently begun to take refuge with a team at long last. The only real Evidence of my Lifespan on Survival PvP. Would be the Remains of D3. Which used to belong to LordRoke and RIOT. My team managed to secure that item and I've kept treasure of it since then.

As far as any remarks to my teamspeak conduct, I am one of the most active/helpful users in a public channel. The only time I've ever exchanged words with a user, is because he/she has joined to Harass, Troll, Or Flame. The only proof I have of that would be this :

Throughout the entire ordeal several staff members were notified of the issue but none stayed in said channel long enough to enforce anything about the rules. You may ask just about anyone, my tolerance for disruption of the peace is very slim, and even an aquaintance of mine, Okami, I no further allow to continue with his usual behavior.
