Potential Solution to L118a and Barrett Issue

    Obviously, as we all know, the Barrett is useless. There is no reason someone should choose the Barret over the L118a. The only advantage you get using the Barret over the L118a is a very insignificant damage boost. Both these weapons will one shot in the head and two shot the body in both armour and super-armour.
    The following damage is in HP (2hp=1 heart) as though it hit the chest, head shots do 2x damage. These are what guns currently do:

    L118a: 16hp (8 hearts); 32 in head (16 hearts)
    Barret50cal: 18hp (9 hearts); 36 in head (18 hearts)


    This problem has been addressed before, all regarding buffing the Barret, my solution, however, is about nerfing the L118a, and leaving the Barret as it is. The following are my proposed damage idea:

    L118a: 10hp (5 hearts); 20hp in head (10 hearts)
    Barret50cal: 18hp (9 hearts); 36 hp in head (18 hearts)

    So the L118a will still be one shot in the head, but due to its fire rate, it will three shot in the body because the player getting shot will regenerate one hp before after the first shot in the body hits him. So the player will have eleven hp when a second shot hits him, which will leave him at one hp after.

    This will make the Barret50cal a gun worth using, unlike it is now.

    Solution: REMOVE THE BARRETT
    It has no unique stats whatsoever. The L118A is your standard sniper, Dragunov has a faster firerate but deals less damage and has less ammo, MSR is the Dragunov upgrade, the Isolator is the one-shot-weapon, and the Disassembler has a huge magazine (either one of the prestige snipers can be considered an "upgrade" for the L118A). But the Barrett? It's a worse version of the L118A!!! It has no unique stats or attributes and acts as a "filler". It has no unique qualities to be an independent gun, so it's pretty much useless.

    Not really, it would still be a good starting weapon because it would 1 shot in the head, do remeber that the conflict is the Barret being useless, this gives it a reason to use it

    How many people can headshot someone consistantly at level 1? Almost no one. Especially not when half the enemies are running around with iso or skully. Changing the l188a into a piece of garbage will make life even harder for the newbies than it already is. And I tell you, it's anything but easy. Long story short: Nope. Thats not happening.

    I honestly liked the way things were before it was nerfed. AKA, 1 shot kill. The barret, I mean.

    The only thing I don't understand is why the damn moddel isn't nerfed yet.

    Cuz it's a balanced weapon. Sure, it has the potential to kill from long range, but that is only when all the bullets manage to connect, which is unlikely. The problem is the spread of the bullets is very unpredictable and irregular, so you never know what happens. I've seen many players survive a point-blank shot from the Model. Also, the Model has a crappy fire rate and it has a 4-round capacity.

    Maybe increase to 6 hearts? But in the whole suggestion I can agree that once I unlocked barret it felt like the same thing to l118a. A +0.5 from me.

    Well even then before when the server was old you started ith a plain sword. Then you'll work your way up to get a gun which is a plain pistol. It would be considering nerfing l188a but it would make it hard for the beginners, but also nerfing would help a little. i agree in nerfing the l188a

    Remove barret and keep the the l118a. I love the l118a. Its the only good sniper the lower lvls have a for a good time in terms of damage.

    Another thing: Turning the l188a into a complete pile of garbage won't make the Barret 50 cal any better. It will only make the dragunov really OP in comparison. The Barret 50 cal will stay equally crap with or without this change. There is two things you can do: Buff the barret, or remove it from mc-war.

    WAT BARRET DOES 9 HEARTS?!!!? STOPPING POWER HERE I COME!!!!!!!!1111!1!1!1!1!1!!1!!1!1!½111111!1!1!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (This means OSK since stopping power does an extra heart of damage)

    True, however the other thing about the Barret it that you only get 32 shots instead of 64, which is the amount the L118a and Iso. So without scav. There's a chance you might run out of ammo.

    The l188a would be a tf2 sniper with head shots doing absolute most damage and use.
    I kinda like it getting the low lvl's to be learning how to headshot well atleast not like a pr0 lul.
