McBrawl Intership

    Olo Minecrafters,

    Currently, there is only one coder in McBrawl and as a result there is a bandwidth issue for how much coding can be done.

    If McBrawl offered a Coding Internship (for college students) would you be interested in applying, learning more about the work, and becoming a professional coder?

    Typical internships occur in the summer, last about 12 weeks (or sometimes longer), are for college age students, and for coders require some programming coursework or computer science degree.

    Eh, I'm not so sure about amateurs messing around with the server's code. Plus, Myort would have to waste time teaching interns. That would postpone server development.

    Interns are typically given intern level responsibility (not direct coding) but the experience helps the organization hire those with the aptitude and skill set to become full time employees.

    Some examples of what the interns could work on:
    1. Marketing or user analysis
    2. Summarizing customer feedback (for coders) and presenting customer feedback so it can be acted upon (forum post reviews)
    3. Working defect queues of some sort that don't require a significant amount to problem solving (I'm pretty sure there are quite a few of these)
    4. Or smaller projects within an entry level associate's level of responsibility (I am guessing there are many opportunities for assistance @ McBrawl.

    Also, I think getting unpaid college students to be slaves for you is an excellent idea

    It would probably be for college students...every great coder has to start somewhere....

    It may delay the Development in the server area, but after we have interns, It would make the Deelopment 3x Faster with the help of 3 others.

    I don't see how this would work. An internship, first of all where? A school? Skype with myort? TS???? If it's a location where people will meet, it isn't one city every member lives in, if I were to fly half way across North America for a coding internship, I would find a program that's well known for it's quality. Also, McBrawl is a minecraft server network. I like the idea, however I just can't see this ever working.

    McBrawl could have interns from local schools (to their location)...yeah companies do this all the time.

    Bet you could have a small group of interns who could help.

    Creating an Intern - program takes a little time but the payoffs could be huge. Instant talent pipeline, hiring highly motivated people, and slave labor.

    Companies create internships all the time for various departments that need help.
