So when the new name-change feature comes out, a lot of people are going to be changing their names and it's going to be hard to remember who is who. I know that everyone keeps their stats and everything, but it will still be hard for people to tell who someone used to be. I don't know what the staff already have planned, but I have an idea.

To prevent any confusion when everyone starts changing their name, maybe the player's original name could be displayed under their new name on the forums. So for example, any post that I create has my name next to it. This would now have both my new name AND my original name.

Hopefully this would clear up any confusion about who someone really is.

What if I want to ditch my name completely?
I think it should display the actual IGN in the player profile info instead. It would go away after 29 days.

The idea is good, but as Credo said, former names should only be displayed somewhere on your profile page.

Possibly a section on their profile called "Past Usernames"?

    That's a pretty good idea.

There is already the tab "Information" on profile pages, just add it there?

I would like to completely ditch my username (I've been stuck with it for about 2 or 3 years). The past usernames is a great idea, so people know what my new username is.

I THINK we already have something that is able to do this. I'll check.

For in-game, maybe you can hover over their nametag in chat to see any possible previous names?

I'm not sure how that in-game idea would work. Where would the previous names be displayed? I mean, there's not much room in the chat tab to begin with. Maybe we could have it so that in the tab menu, it could display past names under current names?

Here is what the forum's username change log looks like: https://www.brawl.com/members/Santa/#unc
Not sure if our forum UUID addon will tie into this. I'll have to fake my name to change I suppose.

EDIT: Not sure if you can see the User Name Change tab, can you?

When I clicked on the link it worked. However, santa is the only one who this shows up for. I'm assuming that's how it's supposed to be?

Yes, he is the only person who has had a name change on the forums.
