I'd also add a machete, instead of a spike. It has numerous utility capabilities, and can kill with a slash/stab. Instead of astronaut food, try freeze dried backpacker's meals and military MREs. When the apocalypse hits, I'm heading into the mountains. I would recommend this if you can light fires, hunt, build emergency shelters, forage, and find/filter water. I'm proficient in wilderness survival skills, so I should be OK for a while. I also have a Bug out bag, for this exact situation. It contains a TON of stuff, but here's the weapons in it: Cold Steel GI Tanto, Kabar BK11, Cold Steel Kobun, CRKT Minimalist Wharncliffe.

You also have to consider that you'd be going up against other survivors, so a handgun should be added.
