Why do people apply for staff?

Those who apply for staff (most of the time) are tying to help make the community a better place. Yes it can be a pain in the rear but hey, hard work pays off and it'll get you great things from a chicken

 

Because some people like to help the community, which some might say is a lost cause, but, I guess people just like doing it for some reason. As someone who was mod on an old server a long long long time ago, it was not a great experience. The only thing I really learned from it was that there are a lot of idiots that play this game. Like, a lotta lot of idiots. Imagine the YouTube comments section, and then imagine those people playing Minecraft . That's what it is (actually, this is probably true cause there are so many kids playing this game cause of crappy Youtubers like Sky). I never was a good babysitter, so I'm probably not the best person to answer this question for you. Someone who actually likes it will probably provide a better point of view.

 

75% of people are interested in the power, they resign quickly and are not good staff members :v
Rest have other reasons. I don't care about any applicant other than my friends.

Coming from staff perspective, it's great to know you can help people. This is not saying you shouldn't in general but having the title validates the fact you are helpful to new players. By becoming staff, you are giving back to the community too and also allows you to communicate ideas to upper ranks that the community has that they may not get to as there are many people in the community.

 

Usually, people realize (if they do get accepted) soon after that being a mod does require you actually being a "mod". For those people, it is really just about power. For others, it is about helping the community, but these people are hard to come by.

Personally, I do want to help the community, but that does not require being a mod. Also, I am way too immature and loud to ever become one, so yeah xD

 

Most people want staff because they look good and appear better and more responsible than other people, giving them respect and popularity. The other little portion apply for mod to help people and enforce rules.

 

1. Cuz they want to help the server
2. Cuz they want the powers of mod
3. Cuz they want people to look up to them

Problem is only 1/3 of these things are good.

 

Normally they get mod so they can brag to their other Minecraftian friends, but what they don't realize is that being a moderator isn't just about going around saying I GOT DAH POWAH.

Power is a huge perk of become a staff member, but I'm pretty sure not all applicants apply just to abuse and get demoted. :V

 

If you're gonna apply, make sure you have the work ethics. Most people believe they can help the community become a better place as people have said so above, but what people don't know, is it takes the community as a whole. Not just staff members. I plan on applying again maybe in the future once I'm more active. But, I know my work ethics and my schedule and I know when I'll have to retire (I plan on going into Nuclear Med. so it takes lots and lots of good grades, studying and all :v)

 

People that apply for staff want to help the Mcbrawl community be a good place, to help others in game, to deal with people, to stop fights, all these are good examples of why people would apply for staff. My biggest dream is to become a mod on Pvp.mcbrawl.com
