The server was originally with recoil, but got temporarily removed in order to fix a glitch with it. Too bad for you; recoil isn't going to be removed because it makes the server (slightly) more realistic.

 

Gotta agree with this one, although no recoil would be nice...

I'm in favor of no recoil as well.

 

I think the old recoil values should be restored, not removed completely. I do miss skully jumping doe .

 

We currently have problems with the recoil since mc-war got updated to 1.8. Besides that, there are a lot other bugs / glitches at the moment.
Any info about that can be found here.
The old recoil got removed because people could get out of map with it.
After it got added back, it was a bit glitchy but it got fixed.
We will fix the recoil as soon as possible or even remove it till it gets fixed. The number of OOM's is just too big.
Personally, I also miss jumping and shooting with the skully. But since the recoil got added back I started to use it differently. I don't like the recoil on pistols though, since pistols don't have much recoil in real life.
What I would like the most, is only recoil on shotguns and snipers.
Maybe add something that you can only walk with a rifle and not run with slowness 5 (for the zoom).
Just an idea..

No recoil = no skill

 

The recoil balances the skullcrusher and other over powered weapons. Imagine if recoil was removed and @Mokolee started using minifun again. It would be like bloodbath (the game would end too fast ;v)

Also, before 1.8, you could still sort of jump with skully, you just have to time it just right.

 

Since when was getting knocked back realistic, in real life. If you shooting from a ledge you wouldn't fall off because of "Knockback", there is a Knockback from the power of the weapon but it's not nearly enough to push you back 1 foot in real life.
But I prefer the Knockback it has saved me countless times, when I get spray with a minigun dodging them snipers.

 

I really don't see why no recoil makes you a noob... just because you don't know how to play normaly without camping.

The recoil does not balance **** if it is on every weapon it only has to be on the snipers and shotguns. The automatics are guns to rush and with the recoil you can't really do that anymore.

 

Recoil was a major part of the server before the glitch needed to be addressed. So now he have lots of players who started their mc-war career inside this softie period. So, unfortunately, that just means your going to need to suck it up and try to learn to play like the other eighty percent of the server has for years

I always rush even with recoil, I don't see any problem with it.

 

I am non biased with this topic. Recoil has pros and cons.
Pros: Lets you get away from infects a bit faster.
Prevents people from charging you with moddel or Minigun/Autos and they take no recoil when they shoot it
Easy to get you behind cover.
Cons: Out of map is more common from scrubs.
It can get you trapped in a corner and get you killed.
Can easily push you out of cover to be shot by someone.
As you can see it has ups and downs to avoid OOM the recoil needs to be taken down a notch. Even when they fix the recoil so no one OOMs it would be 3 pros to 2 cons.

 

This is made due to the knock back change.

 

Plus, mini without knockback is like a steamroller

 

Is/Has there ever been recoil that doesn't go up? If so, that would be the best option

1. Jumping side to side is kinda like a glitch, not intended.
2. Camping behind a log with a sniper is how you play snipers, duh durr.
3. Why are you going out of the map in the first place? The only reason they tell you that is to make the game playable for everyone.
