If you are that person that gets lag every time you log onto a server, this should be able to help you out. Also if you are that person that wants to spend money to get their fps higher then I would suggest that you get a new video card for gaming. There are many good ones on the internet.

    Golden's Laggy Guide:

    1) If you are really laggy you may wanna use a 1x1 or 8x8 texture pack, simple texture packs can reduce lag.

    2) Download optifine if you haven't already.

    3) Update your graphics card:
To find what your graphic card is:
Open the start menu. Right click on My Computer. Go to Properties. Then Hardware/Device manager... And look for Display Adapter.

NOTE: Once you find out the graphics card you have, find the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. Also you can't update drivers in most Mac computers since they come with built in ones.

    4) You also may wanna allow Minecraft to use up more RAM from your computer.
To add ram open your launcher and choose edit profile.
    Then check JVM Arguments.
Change -Xmx1G to how much you want. If you want 2GB do -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M
Java 32 bit can only have up to 1.5G

    1GB -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M or -Xmx1G
    2GB -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M or -Xmx2G
    1.5GB (32 Bit java) -Xmx1536M -Xms1536M

    5) Change your Minecraft Settings (Including your Optifine Settings):
    • Disable Vsync
    • Turn off Clouds
    • Play on fast
    • No smooth lighting
    • Turn on VBOs
    • Mess with your render distance and see which one can work for you
    • Turn fog off
    6) Close all other tabs if you are focusing on playing Minecraft (Optional).

    7) Download the Razer Game Booster if you want to increase your fps. The link is here. It is pretty much self explanatory.

    8) Set your Minecraft priority high on task manager. To do this you must do Ctrl + Alt + Delete with a click or tap. After this click on the Details Tab and find you Minecraft (javaw.exe). There may be 2 of them so if there is click on the one that has the higher memory and right click it. There will be an option to "set priority." Click on that option and make it high.

These tips should be able to help reduce your Minecraft lag as I have seen many people complain in game.

They don't develop a graphics card to download, they develop the drivers for it, but still I give it a 10/10

Could you add "if you have any other programs open that you are not using, close them."?

Also, don't forget that changing some setting in your "graphic settings" in-game can be helpful. Once you download optifine it tells you what settings to use to optimize your speed.

    Nice guide!
Just a little tip for mac users, and quote me if I am wrong, if you hit F3 in game, and look in the top right corner, you should see what Graphics card you have, It should be under Display. For example I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with OpenGL Engine.

Oh yeah that is what I meant but thanks!
    Added. Thanks!
I will look in to this more and it will be added soon. Thanks!
EDIT: I remembered that you can't update drivers in most Macs since they have build in ones.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I will add no fog since that is the least laggiest. Thanks!

    Thanks for all the compliments!
