The last of us. A giant of a game. Fluid, moving and pioneering, it is a classic. That is why I believe it should be recreated in Minecraft.
I realise this appears similar to WarZ at a first glance, but if you read all of this post, you will be enlightened.

The basic principle is factions, which contest over limited resources (see below) in a non-interactive but open map, but you can go lone wolf or team. There are different types of zombies (also see below) which you have to hold off in different ways.
Factions

1. Similar plugin to faction servers.
2. A faction has prestige depending on it's size and wealth.

Guns

1. Revolver- Slow firerate, six shots, medium damage, medium firerate.
2. Shotgun- 4 shots, high damage at close range, over a spread. Slow firerate.
3. Dragunov- 7 shots, scope, high damage, but very slow firerate.
4. 9mm- 25 shots, low damage, 5 round burst.
5. Semi-auto rifle- 30 shots, medium damage, meduim-high firerate.

Zombies

1. Clickers- Zombie pigmen. They attack on if you move about near them, as they are blind, they use echolocation to locate prey. You can throw pebbles (Eggs) and the clicker will move towards where it lands, as a diversion. They are the 3rd stage of the illness.
2. Runners/Stalkers- Zombies. They move in packs, but sometimes retain traces of their humanity and do not attack, as the disease that controls them (Cordeyceps Unaterlalis) hasn't fully subdued them. They are the 1st/2nd stage of the illness.

(I will add more a I think of it, so this may be somewhat incomplete. Don't judge, I'm editing new concepts I come up with in constantly.)
