    Only issue is, the particles probably won't look like a "realistic" CoD hitmarker. Doesn't really matter in the end, I suppose.

    Also, a note. I can't do this in the client, since the ProjectileHitEvent is server-side. Of course, I can detect when a snowball/arrow/other projectile hits a player, but I wouldn't be able to tell who shot it.

    You can use a texture pack to get a custom hit marker...

    Yes, but will this not produce major lag and slow down the server even more than 1.8 has?

    I think it would be an interesting addition, but for sure not a necessary one.

    I know, but also the idea hasn't sense. Of course you can, but you will download two packs for 1 server ?

    What do you mean but 2 packs for one server ?
    You can go into the resource pack textures and edit the cross hair yourself, I've personally only limited myself to the basic stuff ( HUD, textures, homescreen, GUI ).

    Sorry for my mistake.
    I mean, if it'll be add, the player should download a new texture pack. Or @griffy718'll create the hit marker.

    Geez, it's just an idea he's giving. How do you expect a noncoder to explain how to code something? Leave that for the coders to decide.

    Maybe you should watch a CoD video.
