Why A's Don't Mean Anything

    Title says it all pretty much. What I don't understand is why people think an A is a general statement saying you're smart. I'm gonna be honest, last year I barely studied and passed with mostly A's. I had 1 B and that was in English Honors. And that was the one class I actually DID study in. But when I got that B my parents basically said those A's don't matter when I get a B. I find that... hilarious.

    As mean everything if you want a good college.
    Most scholarships require a GPA of 3.0-3.5 or higher.
    You're not going to get a good scholarship if you're a C or even a B average.

    The only reason A's wouldn't "matter", is the reason as to why you're not getting an A. If it has nothing to do with your academics, IE you fail a test due to the material not being what was said to be on the test, okay, that's not your fault, but other than outside things such as that, why wouldn't you get an A? If it's because you're lazy, if you can live with that fine, if it's because you can't understand the material, you either ask for help or you live with it. I have no problem saying that at times I'm lazy with my own work, or because I just can't be bothered to endure much longer of trying to understand something.

    Point is, deal with your grades, they're your grades, if you don't like them don't go crying on a forum site about how you got one below what you wanted, for whatever reason it may be. Live with it, or fix it, end of discussion.
