Mc-War - First Impressions

    Although I'd usually post something constructive that wouldn't be a complaint only, I couldn't play properly to find any problems apart from 1: the lag.

    The lag makes it unplayable. Every 2 seconds I get a 5 second lag spike, and its no fun to do. Usually I rely on exploiting the lag by jump-critting people as they lag, hoping they don't do the same. During the lag spike, no-one moves whatsoever. I also often get another type of lag, where I continuously get teleported back a bit resulting in me not being able to move.

    I have no idea what's caused the lag spike, as I have no experience of Mc-War where it isn't laggy, but I have a rough idea what may be causing the TP lag - the anticheat. I'm always getting TP lag when I:
    • Begin to sprint
    • Attack someone
    • Get attacked
    This could mean the TP lag is because of the anticheat not responding well to the server lag, as it thinks I'm speed hacking/ffing/antikbing. So far it seems like an awesome gamemode and that's even with the lag, and I am enjoying it... to an extent. However, its no-where near as fun as it could be.

    Is anyone else experiencing this lag?

    The lag has been here for quite a while. However, the new server is supposedly going to be lag-free.

    The teleporting back issue you talked about could be caused by either lag or noCheat+.
    This can be really annoying in the situations you described.
    When you have it, don't press any move buttons, but stop and continue.
    This will most likely get you out of it.

    I promise you, there is more to war than just lag. Try hopping servers when you find one is lagging. Low-populated servers are good to try to see your opinion of War.

    Yeah, I've tried that and it works quite well. However, it happens so often (every 10 seconds at least) that it really does take away from the experience.

    Glad to hear that there'll be an upcoming version of Mc-War soon with the lag fixed.

    I hope we didn't tarnish your first impressions of this server.
    As you see, we have other...things as well as lag. We at Mc-War have a wonderful terrible community that congratulates $*%&s on everybody when they get a nuke. We are very courteous and do not rage at all, for that would be horrendous. :stuck_out_tongue: We always say that "so and so" is very good a noob with the cbow or the minigun, and no one some people point fingers at people with rayguns in the Infect gamemode. We constantly comment on our deaths, usually by saying, Good kill! iso [insert op gun here] noob!
