What's the point of being a moderator if you can't even ban. If you are going to hire staff, at least trust them or don't hire staff at all.

It also takes 30+ minutes (that's being generous) for them to ban off of the report. . . plenty of time to lose/annoy players that are trying to enjoy the game.

Ikr when he said his trial mods couldn't ban on the spot I was sitting here like "Whats the point of having them besides answering questions in chat?"

I used to think MCPvP had a ton of hackers before I went and looked around at other server networks. With the HRC in place, I could go weks without even seeing a single hacker. In my entire time (~4 months) of being active in the HRC, I was only able to report 9 hackers because those were the only ones I even saw. That's a great amount of hackers if you ask me. In three days of this server, I've already seen 4 hackers. If that is not clear enough evidence to the sheer level of efficiency that MCPvPs hacker report system worked, then I don't think anything will be able to convince you.

It worked, and it worked amazingly, what else do you need?

An HRC of some sort, not even necessarily like MCPvP's, is essential to any server that wants to retain a large player base. If a new player gets slaughtered by a hacker, pms a mod to do something about it, and basically gets told to do something about it themselves by recording and reporting, they're going to leave. All mods should have ban power. If you don't give them perma ban power, at least let them record and ban for some length of time.

Exactly what I was thinking. I even messaged an admin once and they did nothing.

We do have a /report command which will notify all relevant online staff members of any issue. You can use this to report any hackers or any other issue to online moderators so they can investigate.

Other than that, we do not plan on giving mods banning powers, and the discussion ends there.

While I appreciate that McPvP had its own policies, Brawl has its own in place and they're there for a reason. We plan on integrating a large sum of the McPvP staff, so maybe that will help shape things? But changes to rules and policies will likely not happen.

    Locked.
