Creative Ranks Hubbub - The "Merge"

Just a few statements—
Comments like these honestly irk me. You say you are "sorry", but we all know you are anything but. You WANT ranks to be removed, and you want build to be exactly the same.

Also, the implementation Build is anything but complete. There will be extensive modifications, and due to community disruption, ranks will likely remain in Build.

 

In my opinion, ranks are very good if used in the right way. In what I believe to be a good rank system, the bottom rank should be the one that recieves as many permissions as possible without being able to harm the server in any way. Basically, that is what everyone had on MCPVP. The ranks following that should give more risky permissions to those who obtain the rank, but also should be so extremely hard to obtain that it would never be at all worth it to abuse the rank. These ranks could provide things like less limited World Edit and Voxel Sniper.

It seems like some sort of "tug of war" is forming between MCPVPers and Brawl Builders. I think that both groups could agree with my idea, as MCPVPers will have what they had before with the original rank and Brawl Builders will get a rank system where they might recieve some perks from their previous rank. Ranks shouldn't be looked at as selfish status rankings, but should be looked at as badges of honor for being dedicated to building and to the community. They aren't about showing off your skill, they are about being a roll model as a hard-working community member.

 

Skilled, I think a lot of people just kinda gave up on trying to "save" ranks now. Even myself. Arguing about it won't change anything, so why waste your time doing it? It's happening and we can't do anything about it. We'll just have to live with it. After all, it's just a game.

All I wish is that if the merge thing is happening, I don't want to have to wait for it so long. The '#soon' jokes are getting old now.

We get it. No need to be so rude. Also, there is no point of trying to get the last word about the rank loss thing. This thread shouldn't be discussed anyways since no matter how much we argue, ranks aren't staying and that's that.

 

I agree with you on one thing, shout should be turned off and because of countless things,
stupidity of some people using it, and just because no one using it really gives a crap about anyone else because they think they are the best people ever and i'm trying to point to anyone, but some people should really grow up and not take people for granted as it can effect a lot of players.

but I also agree now that changes would probably be necessary to the servers popularity and entertainment of the players on it.

Anyways, this rank situation is anything but concluded. Nothing is certain about Build.

Well this is interesting.

First of: I think two Mods having a disagreement on a public forum is not very wise.

Second of all: I think that I can speak for all of MCPVP Build when I say that we are quite frankly spoiled. I have yet to see a build server that even comes close to approaching the style of MCPVP build. It is truly unique and again I think we are spoiled. As for the ranks removal, I am now almost a WE1 and I just read that ranks will be removed and I to am sad. However I realize now that it is sort of tedious to have to slave away to build builds on a tiny piece of land only to get a bigger plot without world edit is unfair in our eyes, probably because we are spoiled.

This is just my opinion. (I say this because you won't believe the flame wars on other servers due to this.)
