    If you haven't heard, one of our fellow brawlers (@ErectStick) has been fighting night and day for a change.

    He believes that he should have the right to saying Nigeria in brawl's chat. Unfortunately, brawl's chat system thinks he is trying to bypass the chat filter and therefore, blocks his message into *s. I, for one, completely agree with this brave young man's decision. He deserves the right to chat about his glorious origin of a nation.

    How can you help? Easy. Spread awareness.

    I was in such disappointment when I heard fellow brawler and activist @ErectStick discovering the inhumane and uncivil and Brawl administrators to implement a censoring system that inflicts my rights as an internet dweller and MY HUMAN RIGHTS. What's next? You're going to censor "American" because foreigners use it to describe someone stupid or overweight or ignorant? Might as well censor every word in the dictionary. This is such a great country, I got war, famine, all in my doorstep, and it will be perfect if we uncensor this prideful country that is "Nigeria". Nigerians are brave and strong for becoming independent from British power after they colonized it, and they are proud to say they are Nigerian because that's the name they gave to themselves. It is uncalled for fighting the white power and having their proud name being censored in a server almost half a century later.

    AT LONG LAST, WE WILL FIGHT FOR UNCENSORING THIS COUNTRY'S NAME TILL DEATH.

    This is a serious issue and needs immediate action. I don't care if people exploit the chat censor, freedom of rightful speech is more important.

    Woahh guys ok. I do agree that he should be able to say Nigeria, because if someone says: HEY NIGERIA! It doens't make much sense at all. However, I think the word niger should stay censored because it can and will be used as a bypass to call someone a NI....GA, which is an extremely racist word. And besides, if he really wanted to talk the country or the river Niger, he could just use PM's, as they don't censore anything there.

    But really guys, aren't you kind of overreacting a tiny whiny bit? I think 1 thread was enough to get the message out.

    I can't believe how much support this is getting it just warms my heart. This is not a matter of racism anymore, but a fight against censorship. Nigeria will be set free, Nigeria MUST be set free. Equality to all Nigerians

    PEOPLE! Simple programming! Plugin devs should easily understand this.

    Dat simple.

    Edit: It's also quite easy to go into getting a list of word-exceptions out of a plugin config file, though I'm not going to code that.

    There is already a thread out there on this.

    The reason this word is censored is that it is racist when used inappropriately. Which happens fairly often...
