Why can you only like some posts?

    I have attempted to look for similar threads, but I have had no such luck. If this issue has already been discussed, will somebody kindly direct me to the old thread, if not....

    Why can you only give a like, or a agree, or a useful or any of the other icons to specific posts? The are a quite a few people who I often like their posts but I cannot show them that I do without going out of my way to tell them.

    People abused the like button in the past with "like" farms, so ratings were removed from the off topic section.

    I think the original reason why ratings were removed from staff apps was because of negative ratings hurting applicants' feelings (they quit). I think they should re-add ratings for this section since there are only positive ratings now.

    Not exactly sure why for the creative apps section, but I'm guessing because of a reason similar to "like" farms.

    As stated above, people were farming Ratings in Off Topic, Creative Rank applications and Moderator applications.
