Rider Rework Idea

    Currently Rider is pretty much a downgraded Grappler. And fighting on horseback is very impractical because of its VERY small health pool (like 4 hearts -_-) also it's harder to fight on horseback.

    My Idea:

    1. Alter the speed to be slightly less than a player running and jumping. This will prevent the kit from becoming a op chasing / running away kit similar to Grappler

    2. Increase the horse's health significantly so that it can be actually used to fight on horseback (Epic horse battle videos anyone?)

    Rider is actually a very good kit during PvP fights if you know how to strafe well. Not that many people use it, either, but I like the idea of shifting the purpose of the kit from running to fighting :smile: (remember that you get a random horse everytime you spawn a new one, so maybe they could eliminate the chances of you getting a fast horse and just increase the health)

    rider is my favorite kit. i nearly played 1k games with it on mcpvp. the great part about rider isnt the pvp. i would always run up to someone and on one of the first hits i would disable my horse, then if i was about to die i would quickly unleash my horse and run. sorta a nooby thing to do but it was fun. its actually much faster than grappler which is great for movement across the map getting to other people and feasts were no issue it takes seconds. just using rider is so much fun cause of the speed. i sometimes play games with rider just to see if i can win without doing anything productive (including making a sword/armor) prior to feast xD. its just so fast which is what makes it so good but other kits like scout and grappler can kill it which makes the kit in perfect harmony between sucking and op. making it slower than the regular player would completely get rid of the reasons to use this kit. Also not to mention that when you hit a horse it makes it immobile for about a second so if it was that slow it would be incredibly easy to hit and the player would become immobilized. learn what rider really is before you try and make it into a completely different kit.

    That would kinda make the kit a little useless. Why would you use your horse if it's slower than running and jumping?

    I like the idea, I'm just not that big a fan of the downgrade to it's speed, although I guess that makes it more fair (and that it still can be used as mobility). It's making the kit tailored more towards pvp and I like that anways.

    What if it was toggle-able \so that you could switch between attack and traveling? Right click the saddle to toggle it. For attack mode the horse would have armor, but move slower. for travel mode the horse would be much faster but have very low health

    I agree that is a great idea. I use rider with my cousin and we go around the map and look for mini feasts and stuff and this would be great for PVP
