Disagree rating.

I'm not saying that at the moment nobody is saying these things, but with the ratings there are less than without them.

 

No, because the first few who disagree can post their reasons and anyone else who disagrees with the original idea can then rate these reasons agree.

 

But you didn't disagree with something. You agreed with the reason for disagreeing.

 

I don't think this is a part of Xenoforums (or whatever it's called) vanilla functionality. Perhaps there could be a plugin to do so but even if something like this were to be added (allowing choice) it would still create the problems of negativity that we don't want to see.

 

Right now you are just picking on words. You know what I mean.

 

I never said something about disagreeing without a reason.
This discussion is leading nowhere, I still believe that disagree ratings are unnecessary and should not be added for all the reasons above.

 

We are discusssing the addition of Disagree ratings here. If you think all ratings should be removed, create a new thread.

I think a couple of us have told you about the disagree unnecessary negativity that the rating brings with it, which is counterproductive in comparison to the positive ratings.

 

Oh dear, this again? I thought we had finally slain this beast long ago and left it's hideous carcass to rot in non-existence where it belonged. Well, since we don't have a disagree rating and I can't simply lazily rate the original post of this disagree, I guess I'll just have to repeat all the reasons why disagree ratings don't belong here. Here we go.

1. The disagree rating would be very out of place now that there are no more neutral or negative ratings.
It simply wouldn't fit in. What would it be, a positive rating? :V Let me put it simply. It would literally be like plopping a camel in the middle of pet store, naming it something cute like Fuzzles, putting it at a discount price, and attempting to sell it in a bundle with puppies.

2. People would abuse it just like they did with negative ratings.
Do we need a repeat of history here at Brawl? No, that's what history is for after all. :V Ugh, I remember the rating wars. Those were dark days. I can just see the clan section of War again being spammed with disagrees. The amount of bad ratings would be off the charts, just like they used to be.

3. They inherently breed laziness.
I don't even like the agree ratings, alright? Disagrees would be just as bad in this area. Better to have actual civilized discussion than people puking ratings on each other, no? I can already see the "Why did you rate my post disagree?" profile posts.

TL;DR
1. You're a scrub for not reading the whole thing. 2. If people were perfect, these ratings wouldn't be an issue. (But they're not, so...) 3. The ratings wouldn't fit in. 4. They breed layZness. :V
