Viking is op

Viking is pretty op. But if he was using critical hacks, (crits), he would have been moving slower and his body would have been bouncing up and down. There's not much you can do about a Viking, except avoid them or get armor. Maybe it should get a nerf though.

Yup vikings can do insane amounts of damage right now because crits haven't been nerfed yet. HOPEFULLY we get that fixed soon because it causes a couple problems

 

The only real problem with Viking is that criticals right now are quite over-powered. Once the crits get nerfed (they were for CTF), I think it will be fine, as right now Brawl has vanilla crits. These vanilla crits make it possible to two-shot someone with a stone axe as viking if you crit both times.

 

Critical hits are already nerfed on HG, so unless that game was a long time ago the reason for the high damage was the viking kit.

 

Viking is not that OP , consider the fact that stone axe=iron sword ect. . And additionally you cant block so that affects it alot !

No it isn't, or at least it shouldn't be. 1.8 prevents the blocking visual.

 

I've tested straight up blocking in the HG lobby (without armour) to test and no damage was deducted

 

Viking isn't as powerful now as the crits have been nerfed in HG.

 

Blocking still reduces damage, it's just the animation that is different. I'll test later to confirm, but I'm positive that it still works, as I find block hitting even more overpowered in 1.8.

Blocking is a gameplay mechanic which allows players to block attacks, including arrows and explosions, by holding down the right mouse button while wielding any type of sword. Blocked attacks deal only half the normal damage they normally would. Blocking does not decrease the sword's durability.

While blocking, the player moves at a speed slower than if they were sneaking.

Take off your armor in the lobby and block, a diamond sword still does 4 hearts. I don't know why it doesn't block damage. It just doesn't

 

This is a bit off the topic of blocking but I'd like to let you guys know that Viking is disabled on no-soup now.

 

I literally am a 3/10 on souping, and I beat people 16/10 souping with a stone axe to their stone sword. Tell me Viking isn't op?
