Seeing as I was never developing War 2.0 and that I promised that date, yes I admit it was a little optimistic. Also with the addition of McPvP certain priorities have shifted. And, while I may not be as happy as I should be with the results, it is definitely noteworthy. Certain backend features needed to be shifted or completely rewritten as well in order to accommodate the features that we deem necessary to continue our services as a Minecraft network. These two factors were and are very time consuming.

I usually only reply to these threads every once in a while, but this should be warranted. You guys have lost patience and I agree with and respect that, but you're missing the bright side: you don't expect anything but bug fixes.

With low expectations, it's easy to get a big surprise. Like it or not, we have updates that will impress every one of you sooner or later. I'm not gonna say "#soon" or "SoonTM", but I will offer this: we're doing our best. And our additional coders we've brought on in the past few months will greatly increase our productivity.

Thanks for saying all that. I think the hype train got away from everyone and we need to be more transparent around this.

I think more coders are needed, priority needs to be established with clearly defined scope, a project plan with key milestones needs to be established, and this needs to be reviewed weekly (dashboard) with the leadership team to remove any barriers, improve communication, and get things rolling.

Let me know if you need a project manager to crack the whip..... I'm available.

I still can't believe there are some of you who are actually still waiting for it to be released. I gave up hope 2 years ago :stuck_out_tongue:
Y'all are just wasting your time waiting for it to even come out this year.

This would mean @JaydenChadd_MCR would be wrong in suggesting that it will come out by the end of July.

Here's what I suggest......hire 2 coders and a project manager to manage the build on a weekly basis.

    The project manager would:
    1) develop a project plan with milestones
    2) scope out everything that needs to be included and everything that doesn't so deliverables are met
    3) report out on a weekly basis with some sort of dashboard to the leadership team
    4) crack the whip and get things done
    5) and it can be done in 2-3 months tops

I have saying for my work place, and it applies here too. That makes too much sense for them to do it.

    hmmmmmmm........
    still not convinced
What I'm seeing here is just vague optimism. A lot of excuses as well.

When the update comes out, I'm just gonna be like, "oh yeah, that thing from like 3 years ago. I forgets."

I mean I guess the coders are working hard on things like moba but brawl started with war so I think they should finish the job before things like mc moba ect

You continue to mention all these changes you say are being made yet nothing is actually appearing to be done. I'm aware that these are back-end changes but you still can't elaborate a little on what they are and why they are taking you guys so long? Honestly, if War 2.0 was actually being worked on, it should have been released ages ago no matter how advanced or complicated it is. This is a server plugin coded in Java, you have an API at your finger tips that you can use to access Minecraft's features yet you act like War 2.0 is its own game in general (from a developers stand point). Your post is not very convincing and now I'm starting to doubt that the staff team actually is continuing progress. This is not intended to offend you, this is intended to get more information out of you. I'm tired of hearing all these excuses and until actual progress is shown I don't actually believe you are doing anything.

That is my stand on this situation, an opinion, not a fact. Please do not use my response as an actual solution to the War 2.0 issue.

Totally agree! Show me a project timeline with deliverable dates.

Project Timelines with deliverable dates are almost impossible with issues such as these. When you're creating things from scratch you have to estimate the time it takes to do such a thing, ensure that they are running smoothly and fix any bugs that come out. You cannot estimate the time it takes to do such a thing very accurately because bugs are a very very very tricky thing at times. Just because you know a bug exists does not mean you know how to fix it immediately and it can halt progress drastically.

Also, as Brittan said, MCPVP's servers probably threw the estimation off by a lot since Hclewk gave them the deadline of mid June to release the gamemodes.

Hiring extra coders is highly improbable as well, you need to find good coders and pay a lot of money as well as give the coder full access to their code. You can't just find a person who could code and let them deal with the stuff that makes Brawl's money.

I know what waiting feels like too, it's annoying and you wish it could go by faster but in the end there's nothing that can be done, they're doing what they are doing as optimal as possible.

Honestly, if you expected a deadline a month after the announcement date which includes a project such as Sword Art Online when a whole set of servers randomly come in then you have nobody to blame but yourself. Never trust deadlines, I hope you learn that because mcpvp sure didn't

I highly doubt they are doing everything as optimal as possible.

Every coder is used to working with timelines and deliverables, it's how things work. Everyone has timelines and milestones.

Hiring extra coders to deliver a better product to market at a faster timeline than before is more profitable than waiting 2 years to deliver........wait for it..........absolutely nothing.

I realize this. I'm saying that development should not be taking this long for 3 people to complete which is why I'm concluding that the developers are not working on many projects at Brawl. Also, other than transferring data over to Brawl's SQL database, the move from MCPvP to Brawl should not have been very difficult.

"You can't just find a person who could code and let them deal with the stuff that makes Brawl's money."

I asked Nom and he said the amount of code to transfer was a good amount of code, it wasn't as easy as just transferring the servers in as they were. And even with the transfer bugs were apparent and had/still have to be fixed.

Again, very generic answers. Just seems suspicious and you honestly are not helping the situation. "large amounts of code". All the things the developers have been saying seem like excuses you give to your boss who is not a developer. If the plugin worked on a plugin with McPvP's network it should work on brawl's network even without SQL transfer. All they would have to do is add it to the bungee network. I honestly don't see how this could be difficult for them. They managed to get both games from MCPvP running in less than 3 days. If that was a "large amount of code" then why can they not complete large amounts of code for War 2.0 in 3 days?
