How brawl could reduce the lags in hg

    Hey guys,
    brawl could reduce their lag issues with the hardcore games, by turning down the maximal possible render distance in game. It is very easy to turn down, and would reduce the lags by about 70%.

    I think the only real issue at the moment is the starting lag, as it's harder to break mushrooms in the beginning. That's probably caused by the amount of people being in the same spot though.

    Your suggestion could help with lag overall though, afaik this was on McPVP as well..

    Yeah, I'd definitely say that the starting lag is the worst - it tends to last only around 20-30 seconds maximum for me though, and that's playing with a solid 200-300 ping on average.

    I was unaware that MCPVP did that? I didn't even know it was possible.

    The starting game lag shows that Brawl can't cope with lots of people at the moment. This needs to be fixed or the QQ will be just like the one in 2014, no one could break blocks

    Weird , i play with a perm 180 ping with little to no deviation . Regardless I dont think that turning down the render distance would " Decrease the lag by 70%" I highly doubt it has that much impact on the servers ....

    As others have said, it's the first 30 seconds or so that is the issue. And to be honest, there's not much Brawl can do about that bar upgrading their servers. An idea that was raised back on McPvP was to teleport players to spawn a lot earlier. This allowed the server to work out exactly how mane people it was dealing with and therefore reduced the lag

    That already happens, they are teleported to the spawn 15 secs before the game starts and we still get that lag at the start of the game. It's been quite minimal lately from what I've experienced though, which is good.

    Quite minimal is not enough, although I don't mind the lag when HG is in BETA, but the lag better be gone when HG is released officially. QQs will be **** if this isn't fixed

    The starting lag is caused by the amount of players, that are loading multiple chunks at the same time. Later in the game, when most of the players eather moving or died, the lag disappears. If the maximal Chunk Loading Distance would be decreased, there would be less lag :wink:

    Yes, by teleporting all the players to spawn about 45 seconds before the game starts, would let the server deal with the 30s lag at the start, and as soon as the game starts, the lag will be gone!

    My solution is to run away from the spawn until 1 min has passed and then I gather my resources.
