    sooo. Where should I start.

My computer recently gave up the ghost after 5 years of service running non-stop at full capacity. A power unit and a few othe units have failed so a company called PB tech are trying to recover my documents and game saves.

In the meantime, I am stuck with a small business laptop [Dell XPS 12]

Does anyone know of a WINDOWS desktop computer which has over 1TB of space, 8+GB of ram, can run kerbal space program at full speed or war thunder at 60+fps AND can handle it with fraps...

And.... CHEAP!!! (No more than $1000 USD)

    Cheers!

I have a HP ENVY m6, 1TB of HDD and 8GB of RAM... it have ran Kerbal Space Program at full speed, not sure about War Thunder though.
Note that I have replaced my CD-ROM with a second 1TB HDD.

That computer might work for you.

Much less then $1500 NZD... My parents a not very inclined to fork over so much money for my birthday. I just can't handle playing games at 10 fps or a third the speed

I had a look and it is just in a possible price range... Next thing I need is high charisma and huge puppy dog eyes.

I have the acer aspire nitro black edition vn7-591g with an i5 4210h, GTX960m 2GB GDDR5 and 8 gigs of ram. It also has a 1TB HDD coupled with an 8GB SSD for the OS. Runs World of Tanks at high with anti-aliasing and gets 50-60 frames. However, it will probably drop down to about 35-40 with FRAPS. I therefore suggest you use Nvidia shadowplay, which comes pre-installed with the PC, as you only about 5% performance hit. That is like 1 or 2 frames. World of Tanks is similarly demandig to War Thunder. Infact, I'm downloading War Thunder right now. I can get get back to you tommorow and tell you what frames I get. The laptop is 900 USD I think, but don't quote me on that though.

That wouldn't work well with war thunder since it has a old and relatively weak i7 CPU, coupled with a GTX 850m 4GB GDDR3, which is a low end GPU. You're far better for with something like a 960m because it is a fast upper-mid range GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 instead of 4GB of GDDR3. And warthunder requires you to have a relatively good GPU if you want to run the game on high or very high settings.

My dad had a look at the list... He asked if an i7 could be used instead as well as a better motherboard. (So it would run well for a very long time)

Ofcourse.I'd recommend 4790 alternatively 4790K if you want to overclock. And go with a Z97 motherboard.
