    Photoshop cs2 Legal and Free to download missing a couple features from cs6, but for what you'll be using it for, it should be fine

    Now all I need to learn is how to make gifs that change my signature every once in a while so I dont have to constantly change it manually.

    That's pretty much exactly what the sig rotators do, every time the page is refreshed the sig rotator chooses a random image

    Example:

    most of the time you should get a different image when you refresh the page

    Thats what I get for assuming the Sig Rotator was meant to actually rotate the sig

    Nope D; I copied and pasted the url it gives you into the inmage thing in the editor and it gives me the {img} thing...

    Gimp is a good tool for working with textures but for working with text and pictures Inkscape (you should add this to the list) offers some interesting options for making signatures (among other things).
