    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread? - I have indeed. I've read it repeatedly in order to get the best understanding of what is required and expected of a moderator.

What is your in-game name? - My in-game name is Lozzylouise.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - I've only ever had one name change from my original name. Lozzylouiserawr and then Lozzylouise.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - No, nobody has access or will ever have access to my Minecraft account. I change my password every few months just to ensure its security.

How old are you? - I am 14 years old, 18th September 2000.

What time zone are you in? - I live in Britain relatively close to London making my timezone GMT +1.

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - I can understand quite a bit of Hungarian although that probably wont come in handy since I have never actually met another player on Brawl from Hungary or with the ability to speak the language. Apart from that, I know very little Spanish and French, these being the languages I was made to learn in Primary and Secondary school. My understanding really doesn't go too far since all I can really remember in French is how to say hello, good bye and thank you. I am currently going onto my 4th year of Spanish classes in school as I chose it as a GCSE.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I heard about Minecraft from a YouTuber known as Skydoesminecraft. I was flicking through some recent video uploads when I came across a video with an interesting thumbnail of a block character. Out of curiosity I watched the video all the way through. From that point on I was hooked. I watched every Minecraft YouTube video I could find and eventually went on to purchasing the game as well as receiving a new laptop in which I could run the game on.
For about a year I played on nothing but single player; I had no idea multiplayer was a thing. This changed after I began talking to an old friend which I had played an online game with before I started to play Minecraft. She told me about an IP she wanted me to join. She taught me how to join servers, how they worked and the commands you could do at the time.
The first server I joined was a server known as MCC by it's regulars and MC Central by others. As soon as I joined I found out about one gamemode based around one of my favourite movies at the time. This gamemode was called Survival Games. I played it non-stop for hours and hours at a time. I wasn't any good but I was absolutely addicted. Survival games was and always will be my favourite gamemode by far.
Whilst playing the server I became friends with a group of people which then split up. I stuck along with one of them. He showed me all the different gamemodes and taught me how to play. One day he explained to me that there was a server you could play party games on. I was intrigued and agreed to go and give it a try. This server was called Brawl. I played one party game which happened to be Wool Mix-up. I loved this mini game to bits. I would join the practice server for it as that was where most players went simply because everybody loved it.
Shortly afterwards I was introduced to a server named Mineplex. I quit playing Brawl for a while. After a few months, I was scrolling through all the server IP's I had saved when I came across Brawl once more. I had remembered how much fun it was so I joined back. For the time I was there previously I had played nothing other than party and felt it was time to go onto discovering different gamemodes. I, being the SG regular that I am, immediately found the SG server and joined it. At the time, you only needed approximately 8 wins and 40 kills to be on either of the wins or kills leaderboards. I was determined to see my name up on there and after about a day of playing, I achieved my goal and became 7th for both wins and kills. I was so proud. I then went onto over taking most leaderboarders until I became 1st on both boards. I kept this spot for the longest time. It all started to fade off a little when I began playing a gamemode known as Skywars on other servers. The idea was so unique I couldn't stay away. I played Skywars on every server I could find it on. When I found out that Brawl had it also, I played on nothing but Brawl and haven't changed since. I would swap between SG and SW. I made many amazing memories and met the most amazing players playing these two gamemodes until SG was sadly given a rest. Now the main gamemode I play is Skywars. I just never seem to get bored of it.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I have only ever moderated 3 servers:

1- I don't remember too much about the first server I ever moderated as it was so long ago since it went down. All I can really remember about it was that the name included 'Zed' somewhere within it and that I was a war mod. This was the server that taught me what it was to be a mod, how servers were made, what commands I could use and what they did. I moderated the server until it's downfall (5 months after its creation.) This server only reached around 150 players at most making it a smaller server.

2- The second server I ever moderated on was a very small server which my friend made for all of our SG 'gang' to join. I helped in the creation of the server so I was provided with the rank 'co-owner'. This server was eventually named 'SquadCraft'. It was a basic factions server. We never really took it seriously and eventually became bored. There were a couple of fall outs which eventually led to its downfall. The server has since been taken down I believe.

3- The third was another small server ran by a couple of my friends. It's gamemodes consisted of factions, creative, skyblock and prison. The server never bypassed 12 players. I was given admin and proceeded to eliminate all abusers of glitches and hackers until one day I just found it boring, and felt like the server wasn't going anywhere progress wise. Nothing ever happened so I since resigned. As for the future of this server? I haven't seen a player on since.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - I will provide Brawl with a hard working, determined, positive and helpful moderator. I will also provide activity within European timezones and my knowledge of moderating as well as my knowledge of Minecraft in general. I am known to be persistent. When given a certain task or goal, I will reach it. If I fail, I will not give up. I will learn from my mistake, pick myself up and try again until I have perfected or finished the task to the best of my ability. I will do all I can to help create a safe and welcoming environment for players.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - I have never used a hack client and don't intend on doing so whatsoever through out my Minecraft career.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - I was banned approximately 6 months ago for auto click on SG. This was a false ban. Within the time period in which I had been banned, I had just recently bought a new PC. SG at the time was having a few lag issues however mine was decreased. I don't know if it was the fact that the screen lagged and after it loaded back it looked as if I was hitting at abnormal speeds or perhaps that my strength kit gave the illusion of a autoclicker, but I can assure you I do not hack. I bought an unban pass shortly afterwards.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I'd say my greatest strength would have to be my ability to 'ignore' people who don't deserve my attention. By people, I am referring to those who post endless death threats, rude comments or just hate in general. It has never really bothered me and effects me in no way. I see this as a useful trait when being a moderator as it can attract a lot of unwanted attention in this particular area. The punishments I give out, the choices I make and how I react in certain situations are affected by this ability, making my actions accurate and giving me the ability to make fair decisions with complete professionalism and the right mindset.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - My greatest weakness has to be my shyness. I wouldn't really call it being 'shy', it's more of a social anxiety. This really effects the way I act in social situations. I come across as quiet when talking to new people but I've been setting myself goals in order to overcome this barrier. People who know me also help with this and I have gotten to the point where I am comfortable with talking to players on ts3 without there being an awkwardly long silence or without me completely freaking out. Due to the progress I have made in this area I don't see it being too much of an issue.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? - I would definitely consider myself active on Brawl. I always check the forums for any new threads I could contribute my ideas, opinion or help on whenever I can. I always welcome the new players making sure their first experience of the forums is a positive one. I'd say I reach about 40 posts per month maybe a little more or less, I don't know an exact amount so this is just my estimation. I am very active in-game wise. I play about 4 hours a day at least and the majority of this is spent in skywars. My stats are pretty decent and I just recently became #47 on the Skywars leaderboards. My ts3 activity is just as much as my in-game activity. If I'm in-game, you're most likely see me on ts.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? - The Brawl server that I am most active on has to be Skywars. I absolutely love the gamemode. I encourage all of my friends to come play. My playing experience has been amazing thus far. Skywars is pretty much the main gamemode I play since SG is down. Back when SG was still running, I'd say I played about 50% of my time on SG, 45% of my time on SW and the last 5% I would play on other games such as WarZ, Survival PVP and Kit Brawl. Now a days I would spend 90% of my time on Skywars and the remaining 10% on other gamemodes.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? - Weekdays I am able to play up to about 4-6 hours. This is from around the time I get home from school till I have to go to sleep. (4pm – 10pm) When I have the time, the amount of hours I am able to be active for increase, although this isn't by too much as I do usually have school related work or because I need to have some 'family time' here and there.
Weekends are usually the best time for me to be active. I could spend approximately 12 hours online if I really wanted to. (12pm – 12 am)The time does vary however as it is my weekend after all and I am known to sleep in till 2pm ever so often. I also happen to have a life away from my computer meaning there will be the occasional absence due to my busy schedule. I can provide 4-5 hours of teamspeak activity on weekdays and about 6 hours on weekends.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? - I would carry out a few steps before punishing the rule breaker appropriately if necessary:

Swearing, spam, advertisement, racial / offensive comments, flaming or profanity (basically anything chat related) : First offense: I would make the player aware of what rule they have just broken and warn them.
Second offense: I would warn the player a second time and mute them depending on how bad the offence or for how they acted after being warned. I would keep my eye on the player for a while just to ensure they do not continue with this behaviour.
Third offense: If the player still fails to abide by the rules, I will then proceed to kick them with a message explaining the reason why action was taken in this way. I would kick them for a time completely based on which rule/s they broke and too what degree. Afterwards, I would prune the chat if necessary.

Abuse of a glitch: Report of a glitcher: After investigation and finding that the glitcher was indeed abusing a glitch, I would remind them of the fact that they are breaking the rules by doing so. If they do not stop abusing this glitch, I would kick them for an appropriate amount of time depending on which glitch they were abusing.
Caught the glitcher: After catching them in the process, I would warn them that abusing glitches has consequences and that they should stop immediately. If they fail to do so I would kick the player for an appropriate amount of time depending on which glitch they were abusing.

Hacking: If I have caught a hacker, I'd do my best to record the offender, gathering as much proof and significant content as I can, post the video on YouTube and report the hacker via the forums.
If I have been told of a hacker, I would tell the player who has reported the hacker to get proof of this and send it to report.brawl.com. If they are unable to do so, I'd try my best to record the hacker myself.

Advertisement: I would warn the player not to advertise and if they continue to do so, I would mute them for an appropriate amount of time.

Unapproved modifications (mods) : I would notify and mod+ and let them deal with the player using side-clients.

Bypassing chat filter: I would warn the player not to bypass the filter. If they continue to do so I would mute the player for an appropriate amount of time.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? - I would act depending on which rule was broken:

Flaming/ raging: If the thread has turned into a flame war, I would report it using the report feature and lock the thread if necessary. I would PM the main people involved in the flame war telling them the reason I have locked the thread.

Off topic: If the thread was to go off topic, I would kindly remind all people what this threads topic was and that it has gone off topic. If this does not change then I would lock the thread.

Grave digging: If the thread hasn't been replied to 30 days after being made and a player posts a message on the thread, I would lock the thread.

Swearing, inappropriate language or bypassing the word filter: I would PM with a warning, taking action if necessary.

Duplicate thread: I would lock the duplicated thread and post a link to the thread this was a duplicate of.

Resolved thread: Once the thread has been resolved, I would lock it and mark it as resolved.

18+ material: I would warn the player about their signature/ profile picture. I would then report it to mod+ immediately.

Advertisement: I would lock the thread and PM the player telling them not to advertise. I would report it to mod+ if necessary.

Wrong section: If a thread was posted in the wrong section, I would proceed to move the thread to the right section.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? - I would act in the appropriate way with maturity depending on which rule they have broken:

Inappropriate/ irrelevant name: I would kindly ask the player to change their name to their online name or something similar. I would ask a second time, this time more firmly. If they fail to do so or refuse, I would then ban/ kick them for an appropriate amount of time.

18+/ inappropriate links, content or profile picture: I would warn the player not to post such content or tell them to change their avatar. If they refuse or fail to do so, I would ban/ kick them for an appropriate amount of time.

Trolling of any kind including voice changers, sound boards etc.: I would warn the player to stop and turn off their voice changer/ sound board if they are using one however if they fail to do so I would ban/ kick them for an appropriate amount of time.

Obnoxious background noises: I would inform the player of the background noise and suggest they use push-to-talk.

Flaming or inappropriate behaviour/ profanity: If a player was doing any of the following, I would warn them of their actions and ask them to stop. If they continue to break the rules I would then go on to ban/ kick the person for an appropriate amount of time.

Record people without their permission: I would tell the person recording that the other people in the channel did not approve of the idea of them recording. I will ask them to delete anything they have recorded.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? - I would act quickly and warn all players that if they abuse the glitch, punishments will be assigned. I would inform all members of the staff team through Skype, Teamspeak, Forums etc. of this glitch and slowly work my way around kicking all abusers. I would keep watch of the server until higher ranked staff members and coders are able to come and deal with the situation.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - I have never made an application before this.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - N/A

Do you have a working microphone? - I do indeed have a working microphone.

Are you able to record and upload videos? - I am indeed able to record and upload videos. I have a youtube channel in which I post the videos on and the videos I record are of decent quality.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? - Yes, since I have moderated in the past I am very aware of all commands and how they work. An example of a few are ./prune ./kick ./mute

Anything else we should know about you? - I am a 14 year old girl. I'd say I'm very mature for my age, many comment on this. I'm polite and respectful. Although I can be quite serious at time, I can assure you I am not always this way. I am rather goofy, clumsy and it doesn't take a lot to make me laugh. People call me a midget but I'd say I'm more 'fun sized'. I've been working on my ts3 and forums activity and I finally believe I'm ready. Don't be afraid to give me your honest opinion on my application so I know where to improve and what I need to focus on. Feel free to PM me, find me in-game or on Teamspeak. Thank you for reading my application, I really appreciate it and I hope you consider me!

What would be the primary difference between an unapproved modification and hacking in your eyes, as you seem to split up consequences for those?

I should have been more specific as what I meant by an unapproved mod is a client-side mod such as 'Damage Indicators'.

How do you plan to detect these with JMod perms?

I would rely on evidence and reports as you can not simply look at a player and tell if they use mods. There will be the occasional player who will post a picture or video on the forums or on youtube forgetting that the mod is prohibited. I would say this is good enough proof.

Hey lozzy! Thanks for applying for this position. I would like to start off by saying that your application is very well written with good grammar and you have gone into lots of detail over the whole text. Doges has pointed something out. However I believe that what you have said it good if someone is using a bannable mod, but you shouldn't kick someone for something you don't have proof on. In a situation like that you should really contact an admin and they may authorise a screenshare with them if needed. +1 on your application.

    In-game: I don't play much skyward so I cannot judge. +0

Teamspeak: I have seen you on teamspeak various times and you are very polite toward staff and other players, if you could become a little bit more active that could help but still a +1 from me!

Forums: With 200+ posts in under 5 months you are clearly active. +1.

Overall: We need moderation on Skywars and I completely feel as if you are ready to take on this role, you are a good contender. Don't let me down! +1.

Your application is long and well written. It does have some errors, as staff no longer uses skype, but now slack. It is highly evident you put a lot of thought into this and did not merely write it in one go. Everyone who applies for staff does not know everything there is to being a staff member so I will overlook those errors. I have talked to you in ts3 and you seem to be very friendly. I do not know Skywars too well so I can not judge you there. Overall keep up the forum posts and helpfulness.

We've been friends a while and despite that I truely think you're ready. Your dedication to brawl is undeniable and your maturity is through the roof. I see some mistakes, but as bass said there are things players don't know. I think that your application was amazing as well as your in game and forum activity.

    Good Luck!

I really like how your application is written. You are active in all the three fields from what I know. You seem very mature and responsible for this position.

However, I would like to see you on Teamspeak a bit more.
