Minecraft Build: Out of Beta!

Today MinecraftBuild is leaving the beta stage of development. With this comes a few exciting updates, but by no means are we done improving Build. Without further ado, here is what we have:

New lobby map
One of the biggest cosmetic changes to Build is the new lobby. We decided to get creative and have a spawn that shows off different Minecraft environments.

Updated menu system
We've tweaked and improved the menu system to be easy to use. You can control your map's options, join other players, and more. Check it out more in-game.



For you who love commands, you're still covered:
/menu - Opens server build menu
/options - Opens your world options
/create - Opens create map
/maps - Opens your maps

Improved chat
The spammy joining and leaving messages have been replaced with notifications based on when someone joins your world. It is also now easier to see when you are talking in global and local chat.



World creation fixes
When creating a flat map you will now spawn with 64 blocks of dirt under you. The first layer being grass, of course. Also, when creating a void map you will spawn with a block of glass under you. Allowing new players to get started even quicker.

Flat world customization
You can now customize your flat world! Pick and choose which layers you want to generate. You want a world of ice? Cool. A world of pumpkins? That's weird, but okay.



Custom resource packs
You can now specify your map to have a specific resource pack. Just supply a URL and players will be prompted to download it when they join your world. Whether they receive the pack depends on their server resource pack settings though.

Custom map icons
Maps can now be distinguished by assigning a custom world icon that will show in the maps GUI. Choose whatever item you want to represent your world.



Misc
• View maps by a player with /search
• Added alias /speed for /flyspeed
• Remove scoreboard in lobby
• Combined /author & /id to /mapinfo
