What are memories? We have over 70k thoughts a day, most of them remembering something from the past. The past can range from a few seconds ago, to months or year behind. We constantly think of what we could have done differently in a situation, or process what just happened 'that' moment ago. But memories can be a truly vivid yet scary place.

Every night I can't sleep as I say I would. I finish up my work or I log off of teamspeak, but I can't promise myself a good sleep. I stay up thinking about certain things. A lot of my time at night is occupied by my thoughts. Memories, life, choices - it fills my brain and I become restless.

Your past may be a great one, but it could also be a dangerous one. I know there are times I wish I do not remember. However, there's a spring of thought that makes me really want to go back. To a simpler time where I didn't need to think about life so damn much. A time where I can just sit down with a clear mind and not worry about a single thing.

Often times I find myself sitting at the edge of my bed thinking, where am I headed? We are forced into a dormant state of knowledge in which we have no clue who we are in the future. It's scary, isn't it? Or maybe I'm just crazy.

Call me weird, but hoped you enjoyed reading. I've been thinking lately that I should start writing short stories and post them here, what do you say?

One last thing: what is your experience with memories? Do you find them to be enjoyable or uncomfortable? How do you cope with having a memory of a time you wish you can go back to? Let me know.

I don't like most of my memories of the past, which is why I like to live in the moment :stuck_out_tongue:

My past is full of lost friendships and missing out on things. Whenever I see someone I used to know at school/college its always painful because they won't talk to me and it brings back memories of when I was really friendly with them. I can replay the whole scene in my head and how it might have gone if I hadn't been so stupid when I was younger. Memories are painful for me because they remind me of how immature I used to be - and the events that happened that caused me to be a social recluse - which I am IRL, believe it or not.

There are some good things to pick from but I try not to think about the past too much. It gets me really depressed in a hurry.

As to your other question, I think writing stories is a great hobby to take up. Personally, I've written 4 of them which are a combined 105,000 words long on fanfiction.net, mostly adventure, humor, or horror stories. I'd suggest posting them on fanfiction or some other site since they'll probably get more attention there but it's up to you ^_^

Anyway cool topic brah. Needs more dragons tho
