An Unabusable Spectating Mode

    It'd be brilliant to spectate your friends in HG as if you die early on, you have to sit there waiting for your friend to win or die, but if spectating was added then you wouldn't have to. However, there are some problems, such as abusing it to spectate others and tell your friend what kind of items they have, for example. For years spectating has been suggested, and for years, spectating has been rejected for just this reason. Hopefully this will change that.

    Before the HG game starts, you do /spectate <playernames (gap between each player)>, for example /spectate Chap chickenputty Signatured, to select people who you'd spectate. You can chose up to 9 players (and if you do, you should be automatically banned for being in such a big team, but moving on), and when you die, you can spectate them. You get their player skulls in your inventory and by right clicking them, you can go to different people who you selected to spectate.

    This is unabusable, as you can only spectate people who you're friends with and you can only see things that the person spectating could see anyways. Its just as powerful as screensharing, really.

    Still pretty abuseable when you have a lot of pplin your friendslist.

    But it wouldn't be that abusable, as you can't do it with everyone.

    What if instead you sent a spectating request, so the other player had to accept it in order to be spectated?

    At most you should only be able to spectate one person per game, as you could easily give out what two people are doing to each other if you could switch. Other than that though, I like it.

    Or as stated above, when you die, you are spawned in some like chamber. Then you do /spectate <name>. The person has to accept the spectate request and you're stuck to him for like 5 min

    In addittion, you wouldn't be able to switch the person you are spectating. (unless he/she dies)

    Still, you could theoretically spectate one person and tell another person what they are doing through a skype call, which is the only flaw in the system. I think switching after the person you are spectating dies might be still op.

    But then it's your problem since you accepted the spectating request. The message could say this: "neropatti wants to spectate you! Be aware that he could be ghosting for another person!"
    Welp, idk.

    That would be fair enough I guess, though people could intentionally ghost.
