Now before you guys ask why I'm doing this, there are many videos that I've seen that does not provide sufficient evidence of a hacker due to massive frame lag or quality issues. I want to ensure you guys that your hacker reports are the best quality along with some tips and tricks that might help on the long run.

    Recording :

While people who are avid YouTubers focus on the quality of the video and the content, this is fairly similar to hacker reports. Hacker reports should always be short, clean and simple and no more than 1:30-2 minutes of evidence of the person hacking. This may not seem like an issue, but sometimes I cry myself to sleep seeing hacker reports that are 10 minutes with only 30 seconds of evidence. So without further ado, here are some tips that can ensure that you record the hacker with evidence.

    * Make sure their name is clearly visible
    * Leave your recorder on standby so when you see the hacker immediately press your hotkey to record (I use f4 as my hotkey)
    * Frame-rate should be 30+ fps so it can show that the hacker is not actually mistaken for lag.
    * Turn down the settings of the game/video and possibly reduce your Minecraft resolution for optimal fps.
    * Download Optifine if you haven't done so already.
    * Don't do 60 fps if your computer lags when you record in that setting.
    * Make sure it's sufficient evidence that the player is hacking with an illegitimate client
    * Also, ONLY REPORT SOMEONE IF THEY ACTUALLY ARE HACKING!! If someone is better than you it does not mean they're hacking..

An example of a decent hacker recording (Warning : Self Advertisement) :

Visible name? Check. Good Quality? Check. Short? Check. Shows that the hacker was legitimately hacking and not just me mostly lagging or complaining that someone killed me? Check.

This is pretty good but the only thing that was a problem was trying to look for the hacker and recording immediately after finding him. I advise to keep your finger ready in case someone starts to do something suspicious.

Now while I can be a jerk and just leave you hanging with just this information, I'd rather save the "what software should I use?!?" questions and show you the programs and the settings for these programs that will give you some good quality. Keep in mind 2 out of 3 of them aren't free but they're easy to use and provide a free version that does not change your experience with the program.

    - Bandicam - Windows/Great For Low-Mid End PCs/Best Quality Settings
    - DxTory - Windows/Great For Mid-High End PCs/Best Quality Settings
    - OBS - Windows/Mac/Free, But Non-Friendly User Interface/Best Quality Settings
Note: For you Mac users, QuickTime sucks, Screenflow and Camtasia is 100$, so this is practically your only option here.. sorry!
(Psst! I'm not actually going to encourage you guys to get pirated versions of these since they're all not free, but it's always an option.)

Disclaimer: Before you type 'Why is xxx not here?!?' it may simply be due to the fact that I never tried it. You are not limited to these recorders, but these are just the ones that I used and had the most success with.

    Uploading:

So now that you have the recording software and possible footage of a suspicious hacker on that SG game you got there, putting the video up on YouTube is our only obstacle! There are times that the video is perhaps 1 gigabyte or more. All that uploading just for a stupid hacker report? Nah, I got better things to do than to waste my time dealing with that. Plus I don't think I'll be doing any massive editing if it's just hacker reports. Your best bet is to use a software that will chop the video size by 90%(exaggeration.. for the most part) so you can upload it in an instant.

The only one I've had experience with is Handbrake, due it to being cross-platform, very simple interface, and it's free. Literally, put that video into the software, let it chop down that file size, and upload away!

Another good software to use is definitely Windows Movie Maker or iMovie(preinstalled) on mac. Both pieces of software not only help chop the video size down by a lot, but they're also great and simple editing software so if you do have a long video, you can take out unnecessary content and only show the evidence.

    Conclusion :

So the next time you see a hacker do not be a bystander and watch yourself get killed. Die in vain! Record that piece of crap hacker and report them so you can ensure the community is safe from any harm.

And as always, feel free to provide additional information that was not displayed in this guide along with feedback for future references! I'll try to reply to as much questions as possible through this post or PMs.

tl;dr look at the bold letters and they'll just give you the main details.

    Sayonara!

Nice post, I think this will help those that don't report to actually begin doing so.

Nice post, not really anything missing out in here... I'd personally give a +1 for OBS, by far the best recording software- Especially on low/mid range pc, due to the fact that even a potatoe can run it

Great guide! The main goal when reporting is just make it easy as possible for the hacker to be seen hacking.
