Does KDR Matter?

If you play Mc-War competitively and want to try to be the best, then KDR matters as it is said to be the most accurate representation of skill. Of course there are those times when you get 20 deaths and 1 kill in a game because of spawn trapping. But for the most part KDR only matters if you want to shop people what KDR you have

 

I'd say it does and doesn't at the same time. K/D os a good measure of your skill level once you've passed 5k kills or deaths. TBH the difference between 2.5 and 3 doesn't make much difference though. It's a measure of overall skill, not specific points.

 

As stated KDR matters if you're competitive or something, but here's my views on it: It's a Kill/Death counter, it usually sees if you die the most, or kill the most. This can be very iffy in COD, in Counterstrike, there's something like "Kills per round", averaged and all that. But COD is a bit unbalanced when it comes to stats, well at least in War. Because when I was under level 20 I basically really sucked, and my KDR was less than 0.5, I was just horrible with the guns I had and could only perform decently if I was given a good gun. Later, at level 30+, I was granted a few decent guns, plus I 'skilled up', I started closing that KDR close to 1. Although sometimes it can be hard to do that, so in my opinion, KDR doesn't really match with skill all that much. Don't get me wrong, it can, but in some scenarios it can't. Because you could have horrible stats one day, then one day you're wrecking and kill a bunch of people, but you really have to work up on that aspect.

If skill was to be measured, it should be measured in different means, but KDR is something else to me, basically like "How hard you've worked" or "success rate" or something, I'm pretty stumped on that to be honest, so I'll leave it at that.

 

Most of the higher lvl people look at their KDR as a way to improve. Most lower/new people don't even know what a KDR is or don't really care. Depends on your play style and how you feel. I personally like to see my KDR go up because it shows that I'm improving.

 

Building on what I said before, there have been lots of talk with KDR, I believe a reason of why KDR has been considered a lot lately as skill is because of possibly COD influence. Probably some COD players went to War and were like "KDR = all skill!", this could have spread around and now you can see many clans saying "You must have this much KDR", this makes people want to have more KDR. KDR can also be a point of showing off, because we all know there's people who always want to show off their KDR, not saying it's bad but it's a point.

 

It's just a number made of pixels. Stop caring about something that isn't important to skill.

 

KDR matters for those players with 10,000 kills or level 30+.

It distinguishes the truly great players from the rest of us mere mortals and it is the most fair way to measure how players stack up to each other. It also tells who has real skill compared to those that think they have skill.

If your kdr is positive, you have been doing something right.
If a player has a (4-)5-6+ kdr it usually means he/she doesn't play ffa games (gungame and ffa) and camps over half of every game.

If you think kdr defines skill, the answer is: no. Skill is defined by the amount knowledge of mc-war and ability to move around in the game with your keys and mouse in extreme ways.

 

Kdr doesnt mean **** after all the donor guns game lel. Kdr doesnt matter for high leveled people. If you wanna define skill, look in the lvls before prestige, and look at the kdr.

Most people say KDR measures your level of skill. I call bullcrap. I like having a good kdr just to have it, not for any other reason. Like Lesoka said, skill is determined by your knowledge and ability at the game.

So does KDR matter? Not really, but if you want to get into a good clan like Xync then you want a good KDR.

 

I have a 7 (almost 8) kdr, because it's my goal to get a high kdr I play a lot of infect and avoid gungames and ffa. I don't care what people say about me either, so go ahead and insult away
