New Maps & More - 12/8/15

    It has been a while since we added new maps to MC-War, so we are very happy to present Residency, Urban and Rundown!

    Residency

    Fight in a mix of modern and favela-like buildings, severely damaged by the riots of the inhabitants against the forces of the west.

    Urban

    Make your way through a clutter of streets, narrow alleys and small passages. Attack your enemies from all sides and heights.

    Rundown

    A small rural village, run-down over the decades and divided by a river. Take over the central bridges before your enemies do!

    We also decided to change the gamemode Capture the Flag a bit, to make going for flag captures worth it. The statistics of RayGun were also adjusted to make it more balanced.

    Changes
    • Amount of flag captures required to win the game reduced from 6 to 4
    • Reward for capturing a flag increased from 75 XP and 2 credits to 300 XP and 10 Credits
    • Delay time between RayGun shots increased from 15 to 25
    • Explosion radius of RayGun shots decreased from 3.5 to 3
    • Damage of RayGun shots increased from 14 to 18 for explosion damage
    Last but not least we also removed a bunch of old and unfair maps as well as changing some maps slightly and fixing OOMs and other map problems.

    • Bayview (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Cove (Surrounded the island with barrier blocks)
    • DDay (Added more landing crafts, sponges and ladders in the water)
    • Domewaw (Removed unfair camper spot)
    • Encore (Placed additional barrier blocks)
    • Freight (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Grind (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Meltdown (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Octane (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Scrapyard (Placed additional barrier blocks)
    • Skidrow (Removed stuck spot)
    • Strikezone (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Stormfront (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)
    • Studio (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks & removed 2 OOM spots)
    • TheHood (Added vines and ladders to weaken unfair camper spots)
    • Vertigo (Replaced half iron doors with barrier blocks)

    YAY! War 2.0 comes early! :V Thank you soooo much! This is so great (for the most part). Rundown looks so cool. It reminds me of an fpsHG or SGG map. Lovin' it.
    Awesome and awesome! I still say that the explosion should only activate on a direct hit, but awesome!
    NUE! >:V Shipment is being removed!?!?! >:V These maps are awesome! (Except encore inf. That's the worst.) You can't remove Warsong! That map is so classic. It's like losing the original DDay. ;-; I only hope that some of these come back. ;-;

    Prepare for Lekosa1's rage about the immense lag on all the new maps!

    Cool update, one question has popped to my mind though. Reasons for warsong removal?

    Why would you removed warsong???
    I get the other ones but why warsong? The map is great.... It wasn't unfair or anything so why did you remove it?

    CTF was definitely going to be removed from Warsong because the flags were way too hard to capture.
    The map as a whole was removed because
    - it had a single battle area.
    - there was not enough cover in the center, making snipers and automatics too powerful and shotguns too weak.
    - the redstone on the map was causing lags for some players.

    Aye, I am going to miss some of these...I had some of my best moments on Beaver and Derrise:frowning:. I guess out with the old and in with the new.

    I was glad most of the maps in infect were removed because of unfair spawn camping zombies, but removing warsong?? whaaaaatt????

    Would you be able to give me a download to the Warsong map so I could rework it? That map is iconic of McWar and seeing it removed really sucks

    I'll have to disagree here, whenever i play warsong i see gunfights all around the map, and in my opinion, it's one of the best maps for ctf. Whenever i try to get the flag, there's not much of a problem aslong as i play my cards right. I do agree with not enough cover being in the middle though, i think the map should be reworked, not removed as it's a classic.

    CTF was one of the most epic things in warsong, and if there would be another route into that castle it would be even better. Btw, CTF is way harder in appaloosa...

    Well and that single battle area was unique and actually pretty epic.
    Also, more cover can be given by changing the map, instead of removing it.
    And just remove the redstone then...

    In my opinion, it's honestly ridiculous that they think that map is unfair, it's the exact same on each side. As a low level I had good opportunities on either side.
